Medieval Academy of America

"The Medieval Academy is the oldest and largest association of medievalists in North America. Everyone interested in the Middle Ages is welcome to join. Members receive Speculum, a quarterly journal with over 1,000 pages of articles and reviews each year, plus our triannual newsletter, Medieval Academy News, with information on conferences, fellowships, summer seminars, new journals, computer projects, etc. Membership will also entitle you to a standing discount on all Medieval Academy Books, Speculum Books, and Speculum Anniversary Monographs and to a complimentary copy of the member directory." This site is divided into five categories. The first has links to Medieval Academy of America's business; the second, lists Medieval Academy Publications some of which have online indexes and tables of contents; the third focuses on the CARA database project, centers, and regional associations; the fourth contains miscellaneous links to exhibitions, visiting medievalists in North America, letters, message board, conference calendar, publications, and a bibliography of editions and translations in progress; and the fifth provides links to other medieval studies resources on the internet.
Middle East Medievalists

"Middle East Medievalists (MEM) is an international professional non-profit association of scholars interested in the study of the Islamic lands of the Middle East during the medieval period (defined roughly as 500-1500 C.E.). "MEM has two primary goals. The first is to increase the representation of medieval scholarship at scholarly meetings in North America and elsewhere by co-sponsoring panels. The other principal objective of MEM is to foster communication among individuals and organizations with an interest in the study of the medieval Middle East."
