This resource, from the Walker Art Center at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, contains a searchable database of lesson plans and resources for adults and children. They even provide a guide of creative ways to use the site effectively.

Allows you to explore the arts in three ways: lesson plans and activities for students, articles that connect you to other educators, and multi-media exploration. A program of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the National Arts and Education Network (ArtsEdge) even provides a spotlight section with an overview and compilation of media and lesson plans on specific topics.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art - Explore and Learn

Modern Teachers

NGA Classroom: For Teachers and Students

Created by the National Gallery of Art, it provides resources and information about the museum's collection. It also includes interactive lesson plans to prepare for a museum visit or just to explore the museum collection.
Smithsonian Education

A resource for teachers, parents, and students provided by the Smithsonian institute. Allows you to browse lesson plans, prepare for family visits, and explore child friendly museum collections. It even includes a Grandparent's Guide to the Smithsonian.
