Sodus Point Light

“Sodus Point, New York”


Built: 1871
Decommissioned: 1901

The original lighthouse built at this site on Lake Ontario was erected in 1825. The current 45 foot tall square limestone tower and attached two-story limestone residence was completed in June of 1871. Today it houses a maritime museum run by the Sodus Bay Historical Society.
