Shonto Begay , 1950-Navajo
Shonto Begay is the son of a Navajo medicine man and was born near Shonto, Arizona in 1950. He earned an Associate of Fine Arts degree from Institute of American Indian Ar ts in Santa Fe, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California in 1980. He is a Navajo storyteller and artist who written and illustrated stories for children and adults from the Navajo and Anasazi traditions.
