Native American AuthorsEdward Goodbird , 1870-1938Hidatsa
Edward Goodbird was born in 1870 and was the son of Buffalo Bird Woman. He was a successful rancher and then the first Indian Christian minister on the reservation. He was for a long time in constant conflict between his religion and the Christian religion he had adopted. Goodbird's coloring book provides a valuable source for teachers with information on the history and culture of the Hidatsa people.
