Oren Lyons is Faithkeeper of the Turtle Clan of the Onondaga Nation and has been active in many areas including tribal and environmental issues. He is an author and artist, and holds an honorary doctor of law degree from Syracuse University. He is the Director of the Native American Studies program at the State University in Buffalo, New York.
