Tito E. Naranjo was born in Santa Clara Pueblo, New Mexico. Naranjo received his B.A. and M.A. from New Mexico Highlands University in 1962 and 1963, respectively. He earned his MSW from University of Utah in 1967. In addition to writing, Naranjo is a professor emeritus, sculptor, and consultant. He is a member of the American Indian Higher Education.
