Federal and State Tax Forms
http://www.lib.lsu.edu/govdocs/taxes.html
A gateway site providing links to the U.S. Internal Revenue Service and to sites for each of the fifty states to access tax information, publications and forms online.
FTA Links to State Tax Pages
http://www.taxadmin.org/fta/link/link.html
Federation of Tax Administrators (of U.S. states) provides links to internet sites of state treasury departments which have an internet presence. Some of the states have posted downloadable state tax forms and other information of interest to taxpayers, including taxpayer information publications. The FTA site describes the general contents of each state's site within its link page. The site also includes several charts showing the 50 states' tax rates for income taxes, sales taxes and many other taxes.
FTA State Tax Rates and Structure
http://www.taxadmin.org/fta/rate/tax_stru.html
"This page is a table of contents for various tables prepared by the Federation of Tax Administrators summarizing state tax structures." The tables are available in HTML or PDF formats and include information on state income, sales, and excise taxes.
1040.com
http://www.1040.com/site/
This site is a public service of Drake Software and contains downloadable copies of U.S. federal and state income tax forms and instructions. There are also links to state revenue department pages, the IRS BBS system, tax news and a tax preparer database for finding tax preparers by geographical location (probably those using Drake Software). The forms are in "PDF" format and require the use of free software for viewing and printing (the Adobe Acrobat Reader). This site has a link to Adobe for downloading the reader. This is a good site to use when the IRS site gets overloaded at tax filing time.
