- This resource, found within the University of Virginia's Children's Medical Center, is a multimedia tutorial for children and parents. It provides information about what cerebral palsy (CP) is, what the causes of CP are, different types of CP, problems people with CP may encounter, equipment used by people with CP, and therapy techniques. You can also read a first hand account of what it's like to grow up with CP. Photographs and a Quick Time movie had a nice element to the site.

- A commercial site, Closing the Gap is an organization that provides information about applications of computer technology in special education and rehabilitation. It publishes a reasonably priced directory of resources featuring thousands of commercially available hardware and software products and organizations that serve people with special needs and sponsors a conference on that topic. The web site has a few selected articles on disbility technology topics and information about purchasing Closing the Gap's commercial products.

This is also an excellent resource for employers looking for information about how to handle hiring a person with a disability. Information includes a Dos and Don'ts list, a glossary of acceptable terms, proper interview techniques, and conversational etiquette. Links to other related sites are also provided.

Its web site provides general information on this condition (including common warning signs), news on assistive technologies, listings of related conferences and seminars, legislative information, and more.

- An excellent place to look for the ABCs about learning disabilities and Attention Deficit Disorder. Provides information about how to get help, how to assess your own child, a glossary of terms, teaching techniques, parenting tips, and more. You can also view a calendar of events in the LD community and have a chance to purchase current publications. There is also a special area for kids, where they can submit art work or original writings as well as get information about learning disabilities.
