Even guns were used in illegal way, first, guns can be used self-defence as same time as harming other people. In the United States Constitution, there is an amendment that states “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” This allows people to own guns to protect themselves and gun control movement is anti-fundamental because it is against Constitution which is primary law in the United States. The guns are used not only for self-defence but also hobby such as hunting. According to the Statisticbrain.com, total people who are hunting annually is 12.5 million, and these people will be taken their hobby due to gun control movement. Also hunting …show more content…
Accoding to the article “10 Arguments Against Gun Control”, it states that gun contorl movement in United Kingdom did not worked. In the 1997, the United Kingdom passed a gun control act called Firearm Act to ban owning handguns. However, after 1997, the murder rate increased in 2002 which is 2.1 per 100,000. The murder rate went back to original rate in 2010, but the muders happen in same rate without guns. These murderer uses knives instead of guns to kill people. Also in Japan, the law bans not only any kind of guns but also any kind of knives and swords. Accoding to Japanese article “,銃刀法・軽犯罪法による刃物規制について” it state that people are not allowed to own weapons especially guns and knvies. Therefore, the gun control in United States and Japan are not easily compared because Japanese government banned all of weapons, and Japanese people are less familier with guns becasue these people used katana, Japanese sword, as their main weapon in past. Guns can kill people, but they can protect people at same time. Gun control argument is one of the argument that is discussed right now. From 1776, when this nation was founded, American people have been using the guns for many reasons such as hunting, self-defence, and killing. At this time American people are facing both danger and advantage of guns. Not only governors , but also all American people have to deal with this problem for their
Gun control problems Nowadays, we can hear the crimes related to guns from time to time, and each of them is scarified and influential. For example, the accident happened in Sandy Hook Elementary School leads to 20 deaths for primacy school students and 6 deaths for staffs. It is hard to imagine what degree of sadness in their family may suffer. In this way, many people think the government should have stronger gun control regulations.
Gun Control Guns have always been a fundamental piece of American life and culture. The Second Amendment of the United States even asserts that firearms are, “necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”. In recent times President Obama has put forth a few executive actions in order to try and reduce gun violence.
Just in In the United States itself has been said that a gun has been the top most violent weapon in violent crimes. Just into 2011, 128,900 of crimes were committed with firearms(Klimas). Also in the year of 2014,8,124 murders were used just by fire-arms(Quadl). Gun control is not only entirely reasonable but also certain to be effective. Some of the society needs to recognize in-state Manning fully that legally owning or selling guns only puts another life at risk.
Gun control is what restricts people from buying and using guns, but these laws are not strengthened at the extent they need to be strengthened. This leads to many people getting these guns and using them to cause mass shootings all over the U.S. For example, according to the Council on Foreign Relationship, a news article that covers major world issues, in 2017, mass shootings at a music festival in Las Vegas and at a church near San Antonio have rekindled the gun control debate (“U.S. Gun Policy: Global Comparisons”). The fact that gun control is still not tightened is a huge margin and error, and still causes mass shootings as we just covered. Many people have said that we should not allow guns to be purchased, which would seem like the logical option. However, according to the same source, Council on Foreign Relationship, some states, such as Idaho, Alaska, and Kansas, have passed various laws attempting to nullify
The right to bear arms has been in the constitution as the second amendment since December 5th, 1791. This amendment should be repealed because in modern times all of us do not need guns. ”The rate of death from firearms in the United States is eight times higher than that in its economic counterparts in other parts of the world.” According to Kellermann AL and Waeckerle JF(1998) Nations of our size and power have found solutions to gun violence by making guns illegal and hard to obtain.
It is clear and evident and most Americans know about about it and some have contrasting opinions and views of it. It is the ongoing heated debate of Gun Control in the states whether there should be more stricter laws on them. We have all seen and heard the stories of mass shootings throughout the country such as Sandy Hook, Aurora, Colorado and Columbine. There are multiple arguments that both support and oppose Gun Control and this paper is going to show you both sides of the ongoing dispute. Although guns are known for giving the ability for U.S. citizen to protect themselves over time and throughout history they have been also used for taking innocent lives thus there should be more stricter laws against them.
Statistics show that comparable to other democratic nations the United states has a higher proportion of gun related violent incidents than those states where gun control legislation has been adopted. An example would be the case of the United Kingdom, which had approximately 2,261 Violence Against the Person (VAP) Offences involving firearms, including low velocity Air weapons in 2015/16 . If this is then compared to the United States which had, in the same period, 9,616 gun related murders and a million VAP offences that did not end in a fatality, then it can be argued that the NRA’s outdated mantra is illogical . There are many further problems with the NRA argument that can be identified in the modern era. , but the main issue would be the NRA’s reasons for the existence of the Amendment.
CDC also reports that 11,008 homicides involve a gun. Over half of the suicides cases in America involved a some kind of a gun. Although Americans have the Right To Bear Arms there should be more restrictions on guns because guns are responsible for a lot of deaths across America. The history on the second amendment and gun control is that everyone has the right to bear arms but now it has been getting out of control with the mass shootings and how people can go online and purchase a gun illegally.
This makes us wonder why people can be so defensive over something like a gun that is so dangerous and has lead to a lot of deaths in the American society. Gun control is essential in our society today because it will help prevent unnecessary shootings and crime rate Gun control will play a major part in the decrease of the crime and murder rate. Therefore, in my point of view, guns should be totally controlled and regulated by the government. If gun ownership is controlled by the government, only a limited number of people will be allowed to own guns. In addition, the regulations will make it difficult for people to access guns unless they have a concrete reason as to why they need the weapon.
Since the Second Amendments’ ratification in 1791, Americans still debate with one another, because of its many controversy views. The amendment allows every citizen of the United States the right to own guns and to defend themselves when in danger. The problem arises when the laws being set are restricting people from their rights. There are so many gun control laws, varying from state to state. The development of arguments surrounding gun control correlates to the increased violence and altercations related to the use of fire weapons.
Guns are just a tool, like knives and hammers and it completely depends on the people on how they use it. People who support guns and arms say that the Second Amendment secures individual’s right to carry guns with them and that gun rights is needed for self-protection, and was intended for military to have peace and defend the country if needed (Spitzer, 70). Most of the Americans use guns as a source to protect themselves and they believe that gun ownership prevents crime. A study conducted on November 26, 2013 showed that bans on weapons did not significantly affect murder rates at the state level (Lane, 5). Moreover, even if the rules and regulations are executed on gun control, not all criminals obey the law.
America had many political and social issues that arose throughout it history as a nation. America today faced with terrorism, rights, its own government, and finally gun control. Gun control is a very complex and complicated issue that steamed debates in congress. Guns in America should be banned to protect the lives of it citizens. However, banning guns create dissents of the gun carrying population, constitutional crisis, and there are other ways to kill people.
The number of incidents of gun violence last year in the United States was about 60,000. In recent years, the number of mass shooting has risen to about one mass shooting per day in the United States. The country is divided with some wanting to reevaluate our gun control laws and either ban or add additional regulations to the purchase of guns. Others say it is our right for Americans to own guns and something the founding fathers considered important to put in the Bill of Rights. The number of firearm sales has risen with the number of mass shooting many Americans question if banning guns or certain guns could help decrease the number of gun violence deaths.
Closing statement: The debate about gun control is inappropriate, because it does not go far enough. Only a completely ban of privately owned firearms can help drastically reduce the number of firearms related deaths and save countless lives. Without a doubt, the proposition of a complete ban of firearms will be met with fierce opposition. Critics will point at their eagerness to hunt, shoot for recreational purposes, and use guns for self-defense. However, recreational hunting and target practice are hardly basic rights that must be preserved at all costs.
To begin with, the second amendment of the US constitution gives citizens the right to carry or possess a gun. As a result, gun violence in America has increased drastically over the years due to guns being utilised in a reprehensible manner and people getting wedged in the crossfire, hence why stringent law enforcements need to be put in place regarding guns in the US. “Since 1982, there have been at least 61 mass murders carried out with firearms; in most cases, the killers had obtained their weapons legally”.
