Meet 10-Year Old Entrepreneur Beau Shell, Aka "Lil Ice Cream Dude"
While most 10-year olds are playing ball, zone out on video games, or are busy texting their friends, Beau Shell of Athens, Georgia is busy making bank.
What started as a small ice cream cart for his eighth birthday has quickly grown into a money-making, entrepreneurial adventure. His mother, Vicky, got him the freezer cart so he could earn money for toys. The plan was to have a cart at the end of the driveway, but city ordinances prevented it. The prospect needed to grow wheels. Over the next couple years, Vicky booked the sites, and Beau sold the ice cream; though, the ever mindful mom has been careful to keep his work/life balance in perspective.
Today, 10-year old
According to TeacherHUB.com, two million children are attending year-round schools. Would the United States fully adopting a year-round schedule benefit the school systems? Switching to a year-round school schedule is highly debated in the United States. Some states and counties have adopted the year-round school schedule in hopes to “avoid the dreaded ‘brain drain’ that students experience during summer vacation”, increasing test scores, and all-around student wellness (Chen 2). Most students would not like a year-round schedule because students already do not like a traditional ten month schedule.

Roger Daniel’s points out that there is masses of evidence pre dating the 1920s which can argue that hostility toward immigrants was certainly not a new development in America. This is an equally important factor as it shows there was always a flaw with the ‘melting pot’ theory and hostility was always a major part of America’s history. In the 1860s large numbers of Chinese immigrants flocked to America as cheap labour for projects such as the Union Pacific Railroad and by the 1870s there was over 1000,000 Chinese immigrants in the United States. They were often threatened with racial violence and driven out by WASPs who were threatened by the cheap labour they were willing to offer.
At the age of 22, Colin began his first year teaching middle schooler’s at Fairhaven Middle School. The sun way high in the sky, and Colin assumed he could simply skip a day of work and have some fun. Reality settled in and Colin realized that he could not miss a day of work. To this day, he explains this as his big “it sucks to be a grown-up moment”.
Homeroom Reflection Junior year I have grown as a student this semester by watching the mala movie. This has helped me grow as a student because it showed me how just one voice can change so much in a community. From this experience I learned how Mala was an ordinary girl but who ones spoke up for what she believed was right for her community and the people all around her. After she started to change her community on a positive way for example, have more schools so students can have an education and making sure girls were able to attend school more often. Therefore, when she spoke up for what she thought was right and changed people 's life there was some who didn 't appreciate what she was doing so decided to shot her and ended up shooting her on her forehead.
The 1980s was the beginning of technology and what it will become, iconic music, movies, and television shows that will lead the way for the upcoming years. Computers were making progress at a very fast rate and would now be seen in someone’s home. Phones could now be carried in your pocket and music videos were on MTV. The songs, movies, and TV shows would become very well known even today.
Taylor Sneed sat in her room Sunday night. She was only a few weeks into school, and was already having doubts about graduating. I have to do my AP Government guided reading, a week’s worth of Calculus homework, my essay, and study for the Physics and Econ test, she thought. She had known about these assignments for over a week, yet she did not even think about them until that evening. That evening he learned about his new medical condition: Senioritis.
There is no tell-tale sign of who becomes a criminal and who doesn 't. Many things factor into the development of a criminal. The debate between nature vs. nurture in this aspect cannot be blamed on a single element, instead both environment and genetics play a role in criminality of an idividual. The population of American jails has a high rate of individuals with mental disorders. Although, not everyone who has a mental disorder ends up in jail the vast majority of Americans who are incarcerated are likely to have inherited a mental disorder at some point in their life. At some point in American history, genes were said to be the sole reason a person became criminal however, this is not the case today.
It is with great enthusiasm and pleasure that I recommend Michael Stoker. Michael is one of South Windsor’s most talented seniors who have left a great impression on me as well as many others in our school and community. A serious student with the talent and desire to succeed. Michael’s academic success is validated by achieving a 4.0 GPA as well as demonstrating solid college readiness on the SAT test.
Using the individual versus community we are forced to make a decision to either honor the John Doe or to do what is best for the community and put his organs up for donation. If we choose to honor the dead John Doe we would not donate his organs to the others that are on the transplant list seeing that we do not know if that is what he would have wanted for himself in his life. We do not know if donating his organs goes against his religion, beliefs, or personal standards. However, if we think about the community, more people would benefit from the organs if they were donated then if they were kept with the John doe. More people die waiting for organs than the amount of people who receive a second chance from being on the list, so as a community we should take every step we can to save the members of the community.
The World’s Columbian Exposition was among the highest attended events during in 1893. The World’s Fair as it was known to the world, broadcasted various inventions that were deemed revolutionary. America was in the midst of the Gilded Age and Chicago was believed to be an acceptable location for this fair. Chicago was celebrating the four hundred year anniversary of Columbus’ arrival to the Americas and it seemed fitting for an outstanding presentation for middle class Americans and attendees throughout the world. Our research will focus on the importance of the Columbian World’s fair and why it was invested primarily in the northwestern part of the country, Chicago at the end of the Gilded Age, and the middle class of the population
Everyone wants to be successful and achieve great things but how can being gritty and having a growth mindset help in this regard? To me, grit is just another way of saying courage, determination and persistence. Grit allows you to work really hard on things for long periods of time. By “Things” I mean your passions or goals. When you have a particular goal, grit comes in handy because it gives you the motivation to be successful in your objective.
This year in textile technology, we have based our studies around fashion and culture in the 1960’s. The changes made during this era and the people involved have affected society majorly. The 60’s had a whirlwind of events, such as the Black Civil Rights Movement, the beginning of second wave feminism, as well as an extreme jump in Music, Art and Fashion. These all influenced the design of clothing and the acceptance of things that had never been seen before like the Mini Skirt. ‘DESIGN IS EVERYWHERE’.
