September 11th, 2001 changed many lives in the U.S. and around the world in many ways, but what are perhaps the most heart-breaking of stories are the accounts of those whom could not escape. I cannot imagine the emotions that would be running through your mind in a situation such as this. The confusion, horror, anger, sadness, or fear that would possess you. From the accounts of the victims that I have read, one of the overhanging emotions on these people's minds was hope. In a way, though it would be comfort to themselves, that hope may have made it harder on the people they had contacted.
