It has been brought to my attention the great need our country has for a solution to teenage pregnancy, unplanned pregnancy, and abortion. Every solution that has been brought forth and tested has failed us. From birth control to abstinence nothing has seemed to work. “Each year there is an estimated 87 million unexpected pregnancy with 46 million of them resulting in death of the child.” (Yazdkhasti) When will this country wake up and realize the real need we have for a solution for this problem? For the greater good of the children, I have come up with a fool-proof solution. Imagine this… You're sitting at the dinner table with your 17 year old daughter. You're having a normal family dinner time conversation when all of the sudden she puts down her fork and looks you in the eye and says, “Mom, Dad, I need to tell y'all something”. Your heart immediately sinks. Your mind races from did she fail a test, did she get a ticket from driving, has she been drinking. But never once did her being pregnant cross your mind. …show more content…
Starting with this generation of babies being born we remove their reproductive parts immediately after birth. As the children grow up, there is no longer a need for sexual intercourse to reproduce. Every child of the upcoming generation would be affected by this solution causing a fix in unplanned birth and abortion. But then how would children and the future generations be born you ask? By eggs. You see, when a couple or individual is economically stable enough to support a child and can pass a series of test and lifestyle evaluations they could go to a clinic and genetically design a baby. In these clinics they would have an online catalog where you could decide the gender, hair color, eye color, and skin color of the child. From there they would take your selections and send them to a group of highly specialized scientists to genetically create your
We find that this action is reckless and unjustified for people to take the initiative to decide the ending point of young people’s lives. There are 1.1 million abortions in the U.S. each year and on top of that, the U.S. abortion rate is among the highest out of all developed countries. Using that data that concludes that there are 3,150 abortions every day in the United States. A step we need to take in order to decrease the abortion rates is to increase sexual education classes throughout high school and, that class must be mandatory for all students. About 21% of all pregnancies end in abortion and increasing mandatory sexual education classes will benefit that.
An issue that pertains to this is abortion. Do people not know that an abortion is murder. You are killing an innocent tiny human being who hasn’t even got a chance to live. There are many other options besides abortion. One option is abstinence; if you cannot handle the possible outcomes of sex maybe you shouldn’t have it.
Fortunately, there are other methods to having kids, such as adoption. II. Thesis
Abortion is one of the most controversial topics of all times. There are two types of abortion, Spontaneous which takes place naturally and induced which this essay will mainly present. Induced abortion is defined by the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. I believe that abortion should be legalised and accepted in all countries for different reasons such as; it 's cruel for raped women to go through with pregnancy, The mother has the right to choose for herself as it is her body not anyone else’s, a young girl is not ready for the responsibilities of womanhood and finally the health of the woman is more important.
Then, the computer chooses a pair of ovum and sperm that raises a possibility of success. Finally, parents choose donors based on the statistics. (Naik) If designer babies are allowed, it causes problems in gap and identity. Because designing babies means making superior babies.
Everyone is entitled to choose their own lifestyle, whether they want to have a child or not. Some females who seek to have children find it easy, although some are unfortunate. There are numerous of reasonings, such as being too old to be pregnant, damage to the Fallopian tube or uterus and cancer radiation or chemotherapy. As our generation goes on, many discoveries revolving biology is produced and one of it is the "In Vitro Fertilization". It is the procedure of fertilization where they save sperm sample, take an egg from the women and physically combining it in a laboratory dish where the egg and the sperm is now called an embryo.
We can also use Kantian ethics of end and means here, “When parents wish to use sex selection services they do so because they have a preference about what kind of child they want to have. If they use a sex selection technology and have a child the child’s sex has been determined to satisfy an end of the parents and the child has been used as an instrument to bring about this end.” There are two arguments for this view, first argument is, Is it right to use sex selection service to remove the specific sex? Is it not violating the rule of natural process? After the birth of the child when he/
Cloning babies seems to be the perfect solution, although there are some ethical issues. By cloning babies for parents who can not have them on their own, you could create the “perfect” child. There are special genes that can be added to enhance some special talents, you could pick the sex of your baby, as well as test for hereditary diseases to choose whether or not to use that egg. Although that may seem like a good thing, the process of harvesting human eggs for donation is very painful, lengthy and increases health risks for the donor. There is also an increased risk of
Teen pregnancy is becoming more common. According to 94% of US adults,“Teen motherhood is considered ‘a bad thing for our society’” (Mollborn). This explains how unprepared teens are and how little they know about the choices they are making. Also, how little information is known.
It is a complicated procedure which involves removing a mature reproductive egg from a woman's ovaries and combing it with
It is quite astonishing to realize the great extents that people would go to fulfil their instinctive desires to achieve parenthood. One of the most famous methods to achieve this desire is surrogacy which is, in layman language, the act of couples turning to a ‘surrogate mother’ to carry and deliver their child. Surrogacy is medically defined as the practice by which a woman (called a surrogate mother) becomes pregnant and gives the new born to someone who cannot have children. This process is a medically complicated process that can be simplified by thinking of it in terms of the following: mature eggs are collected (retrieved) from a woman’s ovaries, fertilized by sperm in a lab, and then implanted into the surrogate mother’s uterus. For
With in vitro fertilization, many otherwise infertile couples can now become parents. In order to achieve this, doctors go through a process which involves taking eggs from the woman and mixing them with sperm from the man. This creates a number of human embryos for the doctor
Despite surprising technological advancements in modern contraception methods still unintended pregnancy is a worldwide problem that affects women, their families and the society as a whole. Unintended pregnancy can result from contraceptive non-use, misuse, contraceptive method failure and less commonly from rape. Adolescent women are more likely not to use and to misuse contraceptive than older women. Unintended pregnancy and its negative consequences can be prevented by access to contraceptive services & including emergency contraception (1, 2). Emergency contraception (EC) (post coital contraception) is a method of preventing pregnancy as a result of unanticipated sexual activity, contraceptive failure, or sexual assault.
Imagine you’re 15 and you walk into health class and everyone looks at you because you’re really stressed out about how you’re going to care for your child the way you need to. Less than 2% percent of pregnant teens will complete a college degree by the age of 30 and roughly 77% of teenage pregnancies are unplanned. Teenage mothers normally don’t realize that when they get pregnant, they need to look after the child, take care of it, love it, and most importantly shelter it. Meaning it’s time for them to grow up and live up to their responsibilities as a mother not just mess around and not graduate.
The US National Library of Medicine reported back in 2006 that 2 out of 5 pregnancies were unwanted (Finer). 29% of these pregnancies where unwanted at the time and 19% where unwanted period, the lack of access to contraceptives around the globe is a big issue because if they were provided to everyone not wanting a pregnancy. We as a human species, could reduce the world's population size enormously. Limiting family sizes to a max of two children per family will also decrease our overpopulation problem over time. As Americans we want to have our own children, having at least two of them is enough.
