President Ronald Reagan was one of the best Presidents in the history of the U.S. because of the goals and achievements that were resolved in the economic system as well as his peacefully problem-solving skills overseas. He loved America and was not shy about saying that. He did a lot of things during the 80s and believed in less government and more of the people’s independence in certain decisions. The role of the U.S. President is the symbol of America. For anyone to be eligible for the role of presidency they must at least 35 years old, a natural-born citizen, and have lived in the United States at least 14 years. A President can serve up to 8 years in the position, which is no more than 2 terms. His job as Commander and Chief, is to make sure that he makes smart moves in the Army and for the country in general. He has the authority to send troops in combat and decide what weapons they can use. The key role of the president is to protect the U.S. Constitution of America and protect the nation as it states in the Inauguration vow. The president can also veto any bill that is introduced after congress votes on it; he has, for the most part, the final say in which bill becomes a law, or does not. Reagan helped train the Middle East to defeat Russia, thus taking down the Berlin wall and helping Berlin become a democracy. Although Reagan had many accomplishments during his term, the main thing he is known for was the reduction taxes and coming up with the Tax Reform Act of 1986, which simplified the way taxes were taxed and coded.
