As indicated by reports and measurements from the National Youth Violence Prevention Resource Center, around one in nine homicides were conferred by a young less than 18 years old in 1999; Hae Min Lee was one of the incalculable casualties of this kind of murder on January 13, 1999. Adnan Syed was indicted this murder by the condition of Maryland in February of 2000. The principle onlooker in his trial was Jay, who the state bases their case off of in light of his credible narrating including the murder. Jay cases to have helped Syed in the internment of Lee and to have permitted Syed access to his auto and scoops to cover Lee. Syed, be that as it may, in late reports and podcasts, has asserted to be blameless of the wrongdoing. Syed does not have much data in regards to the day of the murder and states, "I

The cell records assumed a critical part in the conviction of Syed in the state's case. The Nisha call demonstrates that Syed and Jay were, truth be told, together and in this manner, Jay would know data that could be valid and that Syed, or if nothing else his cellphone, was around Leakin Park where Lee was covered. This shows how the state's case was honest and genuine using confirmation, for example, cellphone record that can't be modified or changed. This likewise illustrates, and negates, claims that race was a noteworthy player in the conviction of Syed because of the way that he was a Muslim in a dark dominant part case setting. The state common reasonable proof in Syed that, I accept, ought not be viewed as one-sided towards racial
Jen saw Jay arrive in Adnan’s car, and after Jay had stepped in her car, she explained how Jay had looked nervous, or otherwise frighten. After a while of silence, Jay had told her what Adnan had done. The only thing different about both Jen’s and Jay’s story is the exact day Jen had taken Jay to the dumpster of Westview mall in order to dispose of the evidence he contained. Jen stated that it was the following day she took Jay. However, Jay claims that it was the exact night the murder had occurred.
Over the past few months there has been another visit into the 2000 murder trial of Adnan Syed, who was convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend, Hae Min Lee, and is currently serving a life sentence at a Maryland state prison. The case was covered in a twelve part podcast by the name of “Serial”. The podcast which is hosted and produced by Sarah Koenig goes through the evidence behind the conviction of Syed to attempt to come to a verdict of her own. After listening to the Serial Podcast in its entirety and after carefully examining the evidence for the case against Adnan Syed it is in my professional opinion that Jay Wilds was in fact guilty for the murder of Hae Lee. Jay Wilds was the key witness in the case against Adnan and was involved
Eileena Luu Mrs. Eddins English II Honors 03/30/23 Opening Statement Greetings, people of the jury, my name is Eileena Luu. I am here to represent the prosecution of Adnan Syed who murdered Hae Min Lee. When Hae told Adnan that she would be breaking up with him for the final time he was heart-wrenched as if someone had taken a piece of him away. Sadness and anguish continued to consume him more after he found out that Hae would quickly find another partner to share her love with.
Murder Case Against Adnan Syed In 1999, a murder case spiked the enthusiasm of the community of Baltimore, Maryland. Hae Min Lee was the victim of this unforgettable murder which brought together three main suspects: Adnan Syed, Jay Wilds, and Don; however, Don and Hae had only been together thirteen days prior to the murder. This rose suspicion in the case but for some reason was not analyzed as much as it should have been. Don did not have a solid alibi during that day, but he was thrown out the window.
On February 9, 1999 Hae Min Lee was found in Leakin Park, Baltimore, Maryland with signs of manual strangulation. The state claimed that Adnan Syed, Hae’s former boyfriend at the time was responsible because they believed he was enraged of their relationship ending. My claim is Adnan Syed is likely not responsible for the death of Hae Min Lee, because there was insufficient evidence to prove he was guilty and the trial was unfair, it was based more on his racial background than the actual case itself. Adnan can be proved innocent with Don’s odd alibi and suspicions.
The Serial podcast captivated millions of listeners as it dug deep into the case of Adnan Syed, a man convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend, Hae Min Lee. While Syed's sentence to life in prison may initially seem justified, a closer examination of the evidence presented in the podcast raises significant doubts about his guilt. This essay aims to challenge Adnan Syed's sentence by presenting material from three episodes of Serial, revealing inconsistencies in the prosecution's case, unreliable witness testimonies, and the lack of conclusive evidence tying Syed to the crime. Throughout the podcast, several inconsistencies and discrepancies emerge, undermining the reliability of the prosecution's case against Adnan Syed.

Ever since i've started listening to Serial, I’ve been hearing all sorts of things from my classmates on whether or not Adnan killed Hae. They've starting questioning everyone in each episode, listening carefully to any detail into who may be the killer, but this story doesn’t have an ending and till this day remains unsolved. Listening to others and what they might say about this case, may have a disagree with the ones that say Adnan is guilty. I believe Adnan Syed is innocent. A murder of Hae Min Lee took place in Baltimore, Maryland on January 13, 1999 and some, including the state, believe that her ex-boyfriend Adnan Syed is guilty for that crime.
Although a Baltimore, Maryland jury accused Adnan Syed guilty of the murder of his ex-girlfriend Hae Min Lee; The question is did Maryland’s justice system accuse the wrong person of the crime. Adnan Syed was a student at Woodlawn High School. He was a much liked teenager by his peers. He made good grades, played school sports, and was an EMT. Adnan was a typical teenager who drank, smoked pot and kept secrets from his Muslim family heritage.

Relationships, lies, murder, conviction. These are all aspects that come into play when talking about the January 13th, 1999 murder of high school student Hae Min Lee. Adnan Syed, Hae’s 17-year-old ex-boyfriend was convicted of her murder in 2000. The problem with this is that the only evidence the state had to convict Adnan was the stories told by others, specifically someone named Jay who was with Adnan for some of the day Hae went missing and had possession of Adnan’s car and cell phone. He claims Adnan made him come pick him up after the murder was committed and assist him in burying Hae’s body.
