They both went to the same high school and the only interaction between the two involved smoking marijuana (weed). Jay Wilds is involved in the case because he claimed Adnan called him and asked him to help bury the body (Inconsistencies). Jay stated that he received a phone call from the phone booth in the Best Buy parking lot. After a lengthy amount of research, the conclusion was made that there was never a phone booth in the area. The timeline and location for the actual murder was questioned and the lies began to build up for Jay Wilds. Before and during the case he would tell lie after lie which did not make him a credible source (Route …show more content…
at the Best Buy parking lot one mile from Woodlawn High School. That was a twenty-one-minute window in which to commit the murder. It was almost impossible when you consider the following facts. When the final bell rings at 2:15 over 1400 students race to their cars or to the buses. You cannot just go to your car and leave you have to wait ten to fifteen minutes until all of the buses are gone to pull out of the parking lot. On the way to the Best Buy there are major intersections with lots of traffic at that time of day. How will he be able to strangle Hae a strong tall athletic girl, remove her from the car, carry her to the truck, and put her in there during broad day light at 2:30 in the afternoon. Then make his way to the Best Buy phone booth to call Jay to ask for assistance, but this phone booth never actually existed. It is not possible to commit the crime during this time period (Route Talk). There were no sings of struggle in the car, and along with being athletic Hae could have been able to fend for
Undisclosed and Serial, two podcasts, have made Adnan Syed’s case a public phenomenon. This case originated on January 13th, 1999. Hae Min Lee, a senior at Woodlawn High School, was found murdered and buried in Leakin Park about a month later. Adnan and Hae dated and had broken up shortly before the incident took place. This makes Adnan a main suspect in the investigation of her disappearance and murder.
Six weeks later, a man found her bodied buried in Leakin Park. After a police investigation, Adnan was tried twice and found guilty of killing Hae. But is that what really happened? This is what Sarah Koenig tried, and failed, to answer conclusively in her 2014 podcast “Serial (Koenig, “The Alibi”).” However, based on the evidence provided, there is reason to suspect that Adnan Syed did not kill Hae Min Lee and at very least
Your girlfriend disappeared and nobody knows where she went. You were just informed she was found dead in a park, but you are being blamed for her death. She was really important to you, and you would never hurt her. Adnan Syed, a 17 year old Muslim of Baltimore, had this happen to him in January of 1999. Adnan Syed was wrongly convicted of Hae Min Lee’s murder because of an inaccurate timeline, an inadequate lawyer, and no DNA evidence against him.
A tennager called Hae Min Lee was murdered on January 13, 1999. The cause of her death was by strangulation. The police and Hae's friends has been searching for her until she was later found in February 9, 1999 at the leakin park by a guy named Mr. S. when Adnan was convicted of murdering Hae. Leakin Park was a park where people describe it as scary or not a good place with people going there just to drink or smoke. Mr. S. was suspicious to the cops which led to many points of questioning.
With so many different stories and countless pieces to the puzzle, it’s hard to find the truth beneath it all. As we listened to the case of Adnan Syed unfold, through the podcast Serial, by Sarah Koenig, we see just how hard it is to find the truth with so many changing stories and endless lies. Adnan Syed was convicted, and sentenced to life in prison, for the murder of Hae Min Lee. Adnan was Hae’s ex-boyfriend and they both attended Woodlawn High School in Baltimore, Maryland.
Hae Min Lee was an extraordinary girl who had a bright future ahead of her, until she was murdered on January 13. Hae Min Lee was only 18 years old when she was murdered and the person who was charged for her murder was Adnan Syed; Adnan was Hae’s ex boyfriend and was believed to have kill Hae, and there was enough evidence to help prove that he was guilty. However that is not the case for Adnan, because he is innocent and did not kill Hae Min Lee on January 13. The first thing that should be pointed out is about when Adnan found out that Hae had died; he was clearly shown to be very distraught. As described by others they say, “We went inside and Adnan was sitting at the kitchen crying, after a while he said that there had to be a mistake and Hae was still alive…
To start off, let's talk about a woman named Asia McClain. She was Adnan's former school mate at Woodlawn high school who claims to have seen Adnan Syed in the school library around the time of the murder. Now if this was true, the library would have surveillance footage of Adnan and
Ever since i've started listening to Serial, I’ve been hearing all sorts of things from my classmates on whether or not Adnan killed Hae. They've starting questioning everyone in each episode, listening carefully to any detail into who may be the killer, but this story doesn’t have an ending and till this day remains unsolved. Listening to others and what they might say about this case, may have a disagree with the ones that say Adnan is guilty. I believe Adnan Syed is innocent. A murder of Hae Min Lee took place in Baltimore, Maryland on January 13, 1999 and some, including the state, believe that her ex-boyfriend Adnan Syed is guilty for that crime.
In this podcast, she story tells about the murder that occurred in January, 1999 in Baltimore County, Maryland in the United States of America. The victim, Hae Min Lee, a highschool teenager of Woodlawn High School was strangled to death. The police and prosecutors reviewed the evidence collected and concluded that Hae’s ex boyfriend, Adnan Syed committed the heinous act. Adnan was
This starts at the disappearance of Hae Min Lee, a senior who goes to Woodlawn High School on January 13, 1999. Lee was a victim using strangulation. Her ex-boyfriend Adnan was accused of first degree murder, serving 30 years + life in prison because there was a good deal of evidence that are against him. There are many opinions and theories here on whether Adnan killed her or not. Adnan is guilty for acting suspicious.
The real reason all eyes were on Adnan was due to Jay’s testimony. However, there were plenty of inconsistencies that were, in my opinion, too easily forgotten. At first, he says he helped bury the body, then during the second interview he had nothing to do with that. Who knows what his actual role in the murder was and whether he was framing Adnan. He did after all give the police the motive for the murder.
Imagine your significant other’s body getting discovered at a park after he/she went missing for about three weeks. This is exactly what happened to Don MacGillivray when his girlfriend Hae Min Lee’s body was found in Leakin park in Baltimore, Maryland in 1999. In the podcast Serial, Sarah Koenig discusses the possibilities of who’s guilty and shows evidence to prove him innocent or guilty. One of the suspected murderers? Hae’s ex-boyfriend Adnan Syed.
Relationships, lies, murder, conviction. These are all aspects that come into play when talking about the January 13th, 1999 murder of high school student Hae Min Lee. Adnan Syed, Hae’s 17-year-old ex-boyfriend was convicted of her murder in 2000. The problem with this is that the only evidence the state had to convict Adnan was the stories told by others, specifically someone named Jay who was with Adnan for some of the day Hae went missing and had possession of Adnan’s car and cell phone. He claims Adnan made him come pick him up after the murder was committed and assist him in burying Hae’s body.
Pride and Jealousy are very powerful things! Some people will go to the farthest limits to preserve their own ego and selfish desires. The Serial Podcast by Sarah Koenig is about the very complex murder of Hae Min Lee on January 13th, 1999. Many different people are brought into the Hae Lee case but the one that sticks out the most is Adnan Syed. On the day of January 13th, 1999 Hae Min Lee was strangled to death by Adnan Syed with the assistance of Jay Wilds.
This horror is Adnan Syed’s reality. Wrongfully accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend Hae Min Lee in 1999, Adnan Syed should be released due to conviction by uncreditable evidence, unclear witness statements, and unfair representation. First off, Adnan could not have committed this crime because the 2:36 “kill time” is basically impossible with Adnan’s alibi(Koenig, “Route Talk”). There was a very small window of time for Adnan to commit the murder and make the call at 2:36. There were 1500 students attending Woodlawn High School in Baltimore, Maryland.
