What was it about the ad for a counselor that caught your attention? Where did you see the ad?
I saw the add on indeed.com. Two things caught my attention. The first is the possibility to work with the A&D population and the second the position seemed to give way to growth opportunities.
Please tell me how you believe your education qualifies for this position.
I received my Masters of Arts in Counseling from a school that prepares students for both LPC and LMFT license. This background has prepared me to work with individual and families from various therapeutic theories including DBT, CBT, Solution Focused, Narrative, Family systems and many more.

I was provided Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (A-CRA) for cannabis users training during my employment with Youth Villages. This training provided me with tools to move adolescents from the pre contemplative stage of change concerning their cannabis use to the action stage. I also have experience working with those effected by addiction at Addiction Campuses of Tennessee. There I led 8-10 DBT groups a week and saw 1-3 individual clients once a week for individual.

During my time with Addiction Campuses of Tennessee I was able to experience working with individuals with addictions and dual diagnosis. Working with this population i found to be very challenging and rewarding. Chemical abuse changes the wiring of the brain. For many of the “addicts” I worked with there is usually a foundation of pain they are trying to mask with their drug of choice. Part of what I help client’s do is uncover and process that pain, and assist in developing skills to

The critical review on the cover letter and resume, written by Jenny Peterson, uses ethos, pathos, and logos to argue that she would be a perfect match for the position of counsellor at Dayjob Ltd. Ms. Peterson clearly describes her previous positions, and experience in similar types of employment, particularly as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, under the Attorney General Department. Underlying several key strengths in related fields, Peterson illustrates her abilities and academically acknowledged qualifications in the counselling pathway. Using multiple examples in the types of casework she has previously experienced, Peterson distinctively demonstrates to the hiring manager, Matthew Gordon, why she is perfectly suited to the offered
As previously mentioned above, Narcotics Anonymous is a support group where individuals who are addicted to drug using can go into recovery with the help of others to cleanse themselves mentally, physically, and emotionally from drugs. The support group accepts individuals who are looking to stop their use of any illegal drugs, substance use, and alcohol consumption. An individual(s) with a problem with alcohol and substance use is viewed as an illness, based on the severity of use, and its affects it does to an individual. Alcohol and substance use can start at any age from adolescent to older adult age. An onset of alcohol and substance use can be known when/if there is an indication of it from an individual’s family history, and/or family
An addict’s behavior is beyond their control but, if those around them help with small support on a daily basis it may enlighten them to recover. One way to show support toward the addict, is by spending time to talk to them without any judgments. Addicts would then feel more open to discuss their situation without feeling guilty. This allows them to have insight on their own behaviors and gain trust from their families and friends. Moreover, the next time they feel a mental impulse they will be more likely to think before taking on a negative
I want to be a part of the Cougar Counseling Team because I think I would be a valuable asset to the team. I want to help spread positivity and help others through their college experience to make their time at College of Charleston enjoyable. I like to think I am a positive role model who can encourage and support others who seek out help. I have always been the friend that others seem to come to when they need someone to express their feelings. When my friend recommended that I should be a part of the team, I did research on what the team did in the college community and instantly wanted to be a part of this ground-breaking team.
For the addict, the quest to obtain narcotics takes precedence over all other needs and many times that individual loses the ability to function independently. As the addiction progresses, financial responsibilities become less of a priority and maintaining employment becomes impossible. For these reasons, treatment programs should focus not only on overcoming the physical and psychological dependence on narcotics, but, should also help the individual with job seeking skills and household

Everyone has something they fear. Before overcoming these struggles a person must build up the courage to do so. Multiple obstacles occur in Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird that require such courage. Characters such as Calpurnia, Boo Radley, and Mrs. Dubose are all faced with different obstacles.

During my search to better my experience in the social service field, I was told about an opening position for Student Success Coaching at HPHS. Since working with youth in the social services industry is exactly where I see myself in the future, this position is very enticing and fits perfectly with my skill set. I am very passionate about working with the youth that needs more attention than others, since I was a foster child myself. I can relate how it is to be misunderstood in and out of school. Though I don’t have any formal experience on my resume, I am looking for that first opportunity to dive in and do what I love while I continue to study at Eastern Connecticut State University.

I am writing to express my interest in the Instructional Coach position posted by the Staff Development Department of GCPS. I have forwarded my resume for your consideration. An experienced teacher and teacher-leader, I have always had a keen interest in improving teaching and learning and pursued the same wherever I worked. I recognize that when schools invest in their teachers by giving them the tools for delivering and monitoring teaching and learning, they increase the capacity of teachers (and students).
