Adolf Hitler Adolf Hitler had many flaws that ultimately led to his downfall. One of these was his lust for power. While Hitler’s lust for power led to his rise, it also led to his downfall, as it caused him to become greedy when invading other countries. This lust for power is demonstrated when he would purge the people of Germany for power, He would kill anybody who he thought was a threat just to maintain his position. This lust also led him to lie to his people and create big conspiracies or propaganda for power. Hitler would lie about his opponents to make him more stable and to maintain his power. On several occasions hitler demonstrated his bad temper. He forced a half niece of his to commit suicide because they could not have a relationship. As a witness described, he liked his niece to the point where he was frustrated and angry that they could not be together, he ended up influencing her enough to commit suicide or he murdered her, no one knows. Hitler was also known to have tantrums when he didn’t get what he wanted. He would begin to yell and throw things around when they lost a battle, or something happened that did not fit his agenda. This temper of his would interfere with his ability to make decisions during crucial times. He would get so angry that he would become distracted from what was going on at the time. This anger made for bad decisions that led to his downfall. Late in the war, Hitler was losing to the Allies and he would get angry when his country needed him the most; this eventually lost him the war, as he lost the ability to make decisions. This flaw can be related to Napoleon, as they both had bad tempers. In Animal farm we see several demonstrations of Napoleon's temper. Napoleon would get angry when someone dared to oppose him. This temper of his would often raise concerns and questions from the other animals in the farm. When Napoleon would lose his temper he would often make bad decisions. Hitler consistently blaimed the German Jewish population for the loss of Wolrd War One and the economic devastation that followed, and this use of the Jewish scapegoat lead to him rising massively in popularity (Davis 95). During what became known as the Night of Broken Glass, many Jewish businesses were attacked and vandalised by the HItler’s Nazi party and this event further amplified Jewish hatred in Germany. Hitler’s hatred for the Jews and any other non-Aryans who he deemed to be unfit for his new society were swiftly moved to concentration camps once Hitler had consolidated total power in Germany.
