Educational Tourism: refers to any "program in which participants travel to a location as a group with the primary purpose of engaging in a learning experience directly related to the location" (Rodger, 1998, p. 28).

Benefits of educational tourism

Travel changes lives. It encourages independence and opens your eyes to new perspectives on life. Participants return home more curious about the world around them and more aware of themselves.

Make a stronger connection. Explore amazing new places together. Experience the trip of a lifetime. Allow growth both academically and personally. Explore iconic sites, taste exotic foods and take part in different customs.

Prepare them for success. Students who travel abroad gain a new appreciation for education and everything the world has to offer them.

Bring classroom lessons to life. Teach history where it happened, languages where they are spoken and cultures where they are lived. ake a lasting impact

Alternative ‘spring break” travel experiences
This form of travel only works if you have a geography that lends itself, be it snow covered mountains or beaches with palm trees.

Study abroad experiences Most major universities around the world promote some form of foreign travel for their students. The goal here is to widen the educational experience so that university students do not only know their own culture but also that of at least one other nation.
