And if you achieve that, and follow your passion with diligence and intelligence, it will ultimately fund you.” For many students, after-school sports are a way to relieve stress caused by everyday life. Some students are part of many sports, others one or none, but all of them understand that sports are beneficial for their mind, as it gives them time to relax. Furthermore, after participating in a sport, many students are less likely to be stressed. Although, what most do not realize is that this includes academic sports. One of the biggest reasons is that it is way more popular. Most people have not even heard of Mock Trial. Could this be because it does not have enough money to grow and become more popular? Cnsnews.com states,"Even leaving aside the 1,531 girls who played high school football in the 2012-2013 school year, the 1,086,627 high school boys who played football exceeded the number of boys and girls combined who participated in any other sport." Students, parents, and friends all gather at football games to watch the teams play. They enjoy snacks and drinks as they observe the two teams battling for the ball. These parents, friends, and students are all able to do this because of funding. Almost no parents, friends, or any other students at Rocklin High ever come to watch a trial. The Mock Trial team goes to their County competition knowing that no one from their school will come out and support them. The lack of support can crush a team. Imagine if you were playing football, and no one came to watch you. Wouldn't you feel as if no one cared?
