America, is a child that sleeps all day, and cries all night
A nation with a hand stretched out to others, yet cares nothing for it’s own, homeless, and downtrodden.
A nation where people come from all over to be something, but die with being a nobody, and dying with nothing.
A country that has stolen the last of my $20.00 whole dollars, on a hot sandwich, which didn’t even buy me a drink or chips, and wasn’t even that good.
America you say there’s danger at every corner, North Korea has a bomb, China has a bomb, Iran has a bomb, Iraq has a bomb.
What about Israel’s bomb?. What about Saudi Arabia’s bomb?, What about the United States bomb?, have you forgotten about the Atom Bomb?, tell me which country unleashed that hell?
America screw
America: The Beacon of Hope To many, America is considered the greatest country in the world; a place where anyone’s dreams can come true, a beacon of light in a world of oppression. Open doors give everyone the chance to enter, with a chance at a better life, with the mentality that working hard will let you succeed, building America up from the original 13 colonies to the 50 states we have today. However, in recent times there has been a change in people’s frame of mind, and as a result America has started to slip from its number one status.
The message they are conveying is that if you do not buy war bonds, therefore we’ll lose the war. On the poster there is a pilot on a plane, and there is also writing that says, “Keep him flying, buy war bonds”. Inferring that if you do not buy war bonds, America will lose the war. Propagandist utilize you to feel that if you don’t buy war bonds, you will be the cause of why America lost the war. They are taking advantage of your fear of being guilty of America losing the war to encourage you to buy war bonds.
Passionate John Kerry, a vietnam veteran, in his speech, Vietnam Veterans Against the War Statement, to the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations on April 23, 1971, argues that the soldiers sent to Vietnam were told to do terrible things and that they were fighting for reasons they did not even know. Kerry supports his argument by implementing anaphora, utilizing a pronoun switch, applying rhetorical questions, appeals to logos through the use of statistics, quotes, and an anecdote, and appeals to pathos through imagery and powerful language. The author’s purpose is to depict to the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations exactly what occurred in Vietnam and why they should be against the war too. The author writes in a belligerent tone for the Senate
To Americans, America is a normal, basic country. America is an argumentative and feeling country with debates around every corner; yet somehow it retains a respectable air for a majority of the time. However, to people who live outside of America, the idea of what America is or could be differs entirely.
Violence might be the Answer It has been precisely seventy-five years since the incident at Pearl Harbor. Japan dropped bombs on the naval base when Marine corporal E.C. Nightingale was aboard a ship. He recounts, “The explosion rips the ship’s sides open like a tin can starting a fire that engulfs the entire ship. Within minutes she sinks to the bottom taking 1,300 lives with her” (EyeWitness to History). The attack only lasted an hour, but the families of 2,340 military personnel and 48 civilians (NPS) were changed forever.
America is exceptional, but it has not lived up to its full potential. America has achieved many great things, but has also managed to go too far and ruin what started out as a great idea. A prime example of what started out as a great idea but was then corrupted would be Americanization. America also fell short in the way workers were treated in its means of industrializing.
To take another term often used to describe a home run, but this more often used to describe those home runs that maybe going over the fence but the announcer isn’t too sure if it will. This is where the possible inductees on my “ballot” that are on the fringe landed. For years questions have raged on why Mike Piazza isn’t in the Hall of Fame yet, and some even sunk low enough to think it was sabotage. I think Mike just had a cloud over his career due to his cohorts that has been lifted after years of coming so close to making into the Hall of Fame. I believe that 2016 will be the year that one of if the greatest catcher of all time punches his ticket to Cooperstown.
Veteran’s Day On the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month of the year, 97 years ago, hostilities rested between Germany and the Allied Nations, marking the end of “the war to end all wars” (World War One), soon evolving as a day devoted to world peace, called “Armistice Day.” However, at the end of the Second World War, President Eisenhower reformed the day to “Veteran’s Day” – a 24-hour period to recognize and appreciate veterans who serve for our freedom and justice in every war.
“If you vote for RJ, you obviously enjoy 9/11.” This was a tweet from a teen in RJ Khalaf’s class when he was running for student body president. The teen said this because RJ was Muslim, but RJ knows that about 98% of Muslims are just like him. That they don’t mean any harm, like the terrorists from 9/11 did. Also, a 7th-grade girl, Helaina Hovitz, survived 9/11.
Imagine if you were a Jew during World War 2, how would you feel having to hide your face in public and not get to eat because you need a ration card. Don’t know how you would feel, well you would probably be looking for a place to hide and food, you also might be looking for a new life somewhere else. And if you were lucky enough you found someone who would help. Like Corrie ten Boom and her family who got ration cards and helped bring Jews to safe places one including her own home. Or maybe Oskar Schindler would help you, he joined the Nazi party and bought a factory in Poland where he saved and protected over 1,000 Jews.
When envisioned, many imagine America as the land of opportunity and freedom. However, America isn't all that it's cracked up to be. Most people are barely skating by, some are well off and thriving, but very few have wealth and riches. Living with the economics of America, Americans bond each other in circumstances that are not beneficial so that they may stay or remain at the top and watch when others are trampled over as if their hands are tied. America has many faults as its history is filled with events that display exploitation of its citizens and others around them.
Persuasive Speech Ah Australia. The land of opportunity. The land of freedom and equality. The land of wealth and good health. The lucky country.
When a person hears or sees the word America, what do they think? America is a country that almost everyone in the world knows about because there are certain words and phrases that can be used to describe it. Some common terms are sports, equality, the melting pot, powerful, freedom, hard working, and some more. All of these words make up what is known as the American Identity. This American Identity has been built up over time by people’s actions and thoughts.
Hunger in America “The war against hunger is truly mankind’s war of liberation.”-John F. Kennedy. This war against hunger can be found in all corners of the globe. The United States of America stands by as one of the strongest proprietors of feeding the hungry of the world, yet millions of Americans are going hungry each day.
How do you define the harshness of society? Social Justice and Poverty is a hard concept to analyze when one does not have a clear understanding of the social justice structure and why most people living in poverty remain poor. Looking beyond the aspects of what causes everyday circumstances and situations, society must become more well-rounded to people living in poverty are lacking their everyday hierarchical needs. In a world with people who are very rich and people who are very poor, society tends to put their focus on making the rich richer. Poverty has swept over many cities, states and countries with low unemployment rates, child hunger, economic violence, homelessness, and major social class issues.
