Andrew Jackson. The great leader of war and law who never asked more of his men the he did himself. Jackson would eat acorns and cow organs during tough times with his men. Jackson was always a very tough guy. Andrew Jackson came from a very humble beginning and earned his fame in the defense of New Orleans. Jackson was able to lead his men to fight off the British in a ratio of 71 American deaths to 2,037 British deaths. As well as being an American war hero, Andrew Jackson was elected to the US senate and the US House of Representatives for Tennessee. Andrew Jackson was a democratic president. Jackson shut down an “unconstitutional” force all for the sake of the people. The National Bank Veto was when Andrew Jackson denied the renewal of the Bank of the United States. Jackson vetoed the National Bank in the best interest of the poor. Jackson took the power away from the “selfish foreigners” and put it back into the government. Jackson put the power back into the government to protect the people, making him more democratic. Jackson believed the Bank of the United States was unconstitutional. Jackson got rid of the BUS to protect the people, especially the poor. This made Jackson more democratic.

Andrew Jackson was a democratic president for multiple reasons. Jackson acted in a democratic way through the veto of the Bank of the United States, the Indian Removal Act, and the Spoils System. Jackson always looked out for the people and provided jobs and opportunities for many people in the US.
