About 10,000 people assembled at the State House in Columbia, South Carolina, to join in "Stand with God, Pro-Family Rally," with Republican presidential candidates Ted Cruz and Rick Perry along with several US senators and pastors from across the state.
The hot topics at the rally were religion and the issues of abortion and same-sex marriage, with participation of people from neighboring states of North Carolina and Georgia.
"Our nation is in crisis right now. But I want to tell you there is a spirit of revival that is sweeping South Carolina, that is sweeping the country. Americans are waking up," said Cruz.
Cruz also discussed Planned Parenthood undercover videos showing the staff selling aborted baby parts, and said that the first thing

No show votes, no empty votes. Stand up and lead and defund Planned Parenthood today," he continued.
"I feel like it 's Sunday morning, and we have a call to worship on the (State House) steps."
Perry pitched in saying that religious freedom is endangered in US today.
"We see fear in our churches and in our religious schools because we have a government that is out of control. For generations, this city was taught right from wrong in our synagogues, in our churches. We see these under attack today, literally the foundation of America is under attack from those on the left. It 's under attack from Washington, D.C."
"Who are you gonna boast today? Who are you gonna stand with today? I ask you to stand with America! Stand with liberties! Stand with these biblical values that America has been founded upon. Stand with God," Perry said.
The former Texas governor said that this country 's foundation was based on a peaceful union between faith and freedom.
"Are you willing to rise up and stand for God and to go forward and deliver the principles and the values this country were based upon?" Perry

In reply, thousands of natives of South Carolina and surrounding states who were attending the rally cheered and said they were ready.
Perry added that Jesus "saw corruption, just like today."
"We need somebody that 's got the backbone to go to Washington, D.C., and turn over the tables of the money changers, of the corruption, of the greed, that we see in Washington, D.C.," he continued, according to the Texas Tribune.
About 600 people sang in a choir at the State House steps during the rally.
A resident of Charlotte, Stephan McQuage, told The State that rights of Christians are being "slowly but surely" stripped
During the analysis of Ted Cruz’s speech at Liberty University, the campaign committee used strategic setting, illustrated the American Dream and appealed to Christian values to successfully influence their audience to follow Ted Cruz in his run for president. On March 23, 2015, Senator Ted Cruz kicked off his Presidential Campaign in Virginia at Liberty University, where its socially conservative student body became a political powerhouse. According to Ken Cuccinelli, president of the Senate Conservatives Fund and former Virginia attorney general, Liberty has become a powerful organizing center for conservative activists; Liberty produces thousands of graduates who volunteer and vote for conservative causes. Cruz’s speech focused on the American Dream and the agenda of the Republican right, as he described his campaign as a movement of “courageous conservatives.”
“... O say does that star spangled banner yet wave, o’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.” Nearly every American can recite the final lines of our National Anthem. However, few take the time to truly contemplate the meaning of these words. When I hear these phrases, I think of the principles on which our country was founded: the right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. But perhaps more important than these rights are the defenders of them: our veterans.
He thanks god for the way America was. George Washington and Barack Obama had great speeches. They both focused on different
Planned Parenthood is a topic that is continuously discussed in correlation with the concept of money as many believe that it “...emphasizes abortions instead of preventative care” (Attira). Because of birthrights, abortions, and the controversy that surrounds such issues, many individuals believe that the government should not be responsible for providing funding. Therefore, actually defunding Planned Parenthood is often brought up as a solution to the highly-debated consensus of government-funded healthcare services. Although many believe that creating a barrier between opinion and action is a positive push, actually defunding the program would be more catastrophic than perceived. Defunding Planned Parenthood would mean blocking and preventing individuals from receiving the health care that they are reliant on.
This is the first terrorist attack that we have experienced in the 21st century. President Bush spoke out to the American people to empower and soothe them in a vulnerable time. President Bush reassures citizens and the victim’s families that America and its people are not only strong but are safe and will rise up again. Bush effectively executes his 9/11 speech and uses rhetorical devices to catch the citizens attention, calm the America people and unite them together again.
“I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” That one sentence changed my life, those thirty one words altered my decisions, the words “liberty” and “justice” shaped my future. To some, freedom, liberty, and independence are benefactions; others view them as excesses. But to me, those words signify duty, honor, and country. Everything granted to us is not free, we have to earn each and every aspect of the objects we have in life.
Abraham Lincoln’s address to the American people can be applied in today’s current political climate. Sometimes, the country being one whole nation is more important than our own personal beliefs on current political issues. Even today, President Abraham Lincoln’s message of unity in his Second Inaugural Address rings
Address to the Greater Houston Ministerial Association On September 12, 1960 in Houston, Texas John. F. Kennedy who at the time was campaigning for president, gave a speech to the Greater Houston Ministerial Association. His purpose was to emphasize the separation of church and state, and to promote “the American ideal of brotherhood” (2). Kennedy’s audience consisted of the Protestant Clergy as said in opening statement of the speech; “Reverend Meza, Reverend Reck, I'm grateful for your generous invitation to state my views”.
This is really the key. These are the people we were elected to serve." This quote proves how Trump outlines heroics based off of tragedy to help people more willing to listen to what he says about both political parties coming together in union. As Trump speech continues he maintains a use of pathos but also begins to move into the appeal of
Reagan states, "Not until I went into the churches of America and hurt her pulpits aflame with righteousness did I understand the greatness and the genius of America. America is good. And if America ever ceases to be good, America will cease to be great" (1983). Ronald Reagan and the writers of the speech adapted and analyzed the audience because the audience consisted of Christians and the speech included many references to the Bible and to God. Reagan supports the Christians and keeping America good through godly works and prayers (1983).
He was faced with the difficult task that evenings of letting the world know what took place that day, and help the American people through a day of shock and disbelief. In a time of unspeakable evil, George W bush addresses that nation using rhetorical appeals; together with the history of American ideas to reassure and untie not only Americans, but the world to stand together and fight back on the war of terrorism.
“We will not apologize for our way of life, nor will we waver in its defense. And for those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents, we say to you now that our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken -- you cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you” (Obama par. 21). We will never back down to enemies; we will, in fact, beat you. Obama used anaphoras in his speech to persuade his audience that “we” are in this together.
He continues to say, “Together we will make America strong again. We will make America wealthy again. We will make America proud again. We will make America safe again. And, yes, together, we will make America great again!”
Former President Barack Obama was known for being a good speaker, but was he actually a good speaker or did was he just a very intelligent man? Public speaking is one of the hardest things to do and Barack Obama does a great job of it. He does have a few tendencies that I picked up on such as hand motion and pauses. Barack Obama gives his speech in Washington D.C. in front of thousands of eager people waiting to hear what the president had planned for the country. Obama was clearly using a teleprompter to help recite his speech, which can be very dangerous as far as communication goes.
Abortion is a huge argument in the world today. “In 1973 the U.S. Supreme Court held in Roe V.Wade that the right of privacy protects women’s decisions to end unwanted pregnancy before the fetus develops.” By 2013, 70 restrictions to curb the practice of abortion from 22 states. (Funk & Wagnalls pg.1). In 2014, five health votes were examined by the House of Representatives regarding the matter of abortion.
