The world was memorized in 2011, when Casey Anthony got off on charges after killing her own 2 year old child. Leading up to the day of the crime, no one could expect Casey to do anything this horrific. So why would she do it?
Casey Anthony was born in Warren, Ohio, on March 19, 1986. Casey’s parents , George and Cindy Anthony, described Casey as a happy, outgoing child. Her lying trend started in High
School when she led her family to believe she not only finished the requirements to finish high

Which started the the parading of the Anthony family. In a matter of weeks Casey had become the most hated women in America and the parents got a lot of it. People stood outside of her house yelling “baby killer” and would not stop. At one point George went to a Motel and was about to kill himself. They found the remains of Caylee in December, they found duct tape around the mouth of the skeleton.
The trial for Casey finally started in December 2011, three years after the disappearance of Caylee. The prosecution was seeking the death penalty, they tried to use the media as much as they could to try and get people on there side. They had images of her partying while her daughter was missing, they kept saying that she didn’t even want the child. They used every way possible to get the jury to feel bad enough for Caylee to get them on their side. Casey’s defense, led by Jose Baez, told a very different story to the jury. They said that Caylee had drowned in the family pool and they said that George covered up the death so Casey would get off of charges for child neglect. However people forget that she was charged for making four false statements to the police, she got a year for every lie, and got $4,000 in fines. Because she had served three years waiting for the trial she ended up only being in jail for ten days, she owes almost $200,000 for the search of Caylee Anthony and is still trying to pay that off. Many people compared the case to the O.J Simpson case, after the trial many states made it a law making it illegal to not report a child missing. They named the bill after Casey Anthony. One of the lawyers on Casey’s named Cheney Mason said, “She hasn’t been freed from her incarceration yet cause she can’t go out to a beauty parlor, she can’t go shopping to a department store, she can’t go to a restaurant, she can’t even go to McDonald’s.
She can’t do anything.” Jose Baez said after the trial that “there are no winners in this case”, which should be the big picture in this case, but it isn’t.
In conclusion, Casey Anthony was acquitted of all charges except the false statements to the police and ended up only being in jail for ten days for “good behavior”. It was the biggest trial to be on national watch since the O.J Simpson case, which goes to prove that if you
