Evidently, the art deco era conveys a particular sense of style which originated from the 1925 Exposition internationale des Arts Decoratifs et industreis Modernes in Paris. Art deco was highly influential during the twentieth century. Having such a significant debut in Paris left this style with a forever infamous name worldwide, seen in all angles of art, from fashion to architecture to society. Although becoming known between the two biggest World Wars (1920s-1960s), the art deco movement was not fully recognized until the sixties. With art deco styles being globally intuitive in visual communications and perform well in mass production, the culture of this particular style still influences and visible in fashion and design today. Various sectors in America have unique origins and environments which still have architecture and design influences of the 1920s to 1940s. The art deco provenance also incorporates regional flora and fauna, another form of traditional design and building influences. Spaniard colonial architecture was common in Florida and the West; however, Sioux and Mandan dwellings are believed to have inspired the design of the Prairie School as well as the Anasazi (a member of the American Indian people in the Southwest) temples which represented Pueblo revival inspirations. Similarly, the KiMo Theatre located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, enhances the qualities of an adobe structure, particularly influenced by the Pueblos along the Rio Grande. The pueblo architecture, developed by the Anasazi is an improvement on the architecture that is known to be around at the time. Such buildings, most notably carved into cliff faces, were designed to be simple homes with the use of adobe to make bricks upon which the architectural feat of the buildings relied on for their structure. With American advancements in technology to the unique modernistic techniques in artistic aspects, the American 20th century would be perceived about how anomalous the art and culture transpired. Of my many volunteer and paid extra-curricular activities, the most important to me is the National Art Honor Society, which extends artistic activities to my community. We organize two school events: the Festival of Trees and the Talent Competition. The Festival of Trees is an event when every school club can choose to donate and decorate a tree that we set up. All of the money raised goes to an organization of our choice. For the last 4 years, we have donated to Street Grace, which benefits the fight against human trafficking, especially in the Metro Atlanta area.

Chicano art possesses a true aesthetic, mirroring a diverse and ever-changing Chicago reality. Today's Chicano art is multipurpose and multifaceted, social and psychological, American in character and universal in spirit. Chicago is considered as people's art movement, outside of museums and hierarchy, so it continues to establish radical or protest art. Since most Chicano artist continue to be rejected for the creative works due to cultural bias therefore, Chicano art does not appear in museums, alternatively motivating the tension between artists and art authority. Chicano art can be expressed as the experiences Chicanos went through by deciphering codes in images, signs, and symbols.
Knowing that I am an arts ' enthusiast, she searched for local events pertaining to art and stumbled across tickets to this event on the OMA websites list of attractions. The intended exhibit of the Antiques Vintage and Garden Show was a bit of a snooze and we ended up spending over two hours in the room designated for the Pre-Columbian art works instead, which happened to line up with the time period of the art works studied in this course of Art History. Through my experience at this exhibit it was revealed to me the importance of the natural world in every Mesoamerican cultures form of art. Specifically, this was proven by the fact that the materials utilized were part of each cultures stomping grounds, literally, in reference to clays and ceramics, also by the subjects and scenes depicted in such works revolved around the natural environment at hand, and lastly shown by the value of animal life depicted through their representation and symbolism. I visited the Portland Art Museum of Thursday the 22nd. RIght away, I noticed the architecture of the building. Primarily how the sections of the museum were very orderly, separated. It allowed me to be able to walk through each of the sections and look at almost all the of the art without getting lost. So, that is what I did.

Postmodernism basically means to the blending of styles, ideas, materials, and so forth in a way that breaks guidelines or set principles in the Art field.
