The ASPCA’s ultimate goal is: “to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States.” (ASPCA, “The Mission Statement”). Being a nonprofit organization, the ASPCA works to accomplish its mission by caring for pets, providing life saving relief for animals that fall to the victim of animal cruelty. The ASPCA utilizes its webpage to encourage people to partake in the organization either by donating or adopting. The content and framework of the ASPCA’s webpage is constructed to primarily persuade visitors to contribute money. A closer look of the page shows the precise planning of the design component of the webpage. They use emotions and attachments that portrays animal cruelty and how it represents a larger portion of its communication. The organization, which I decided to volunteer two hours of my day to, was Cumac. Cumac is located in Paterson, New Jersey and they work to serve the people in the counties of Passaic, Paterson, and Northern New Jersey. They work with a staff of 21 and volunteers from all over to help people in need with food and supplies they would need to survive. Their mission statement is: “CUMAC feeds people and changes lives. Their goals are to provide a standard of patient safety, treatment and quality by unannounced surveys and providing private reports of their findings which can be publically accessed. The accredited facility must comply with the Joint Commissions standards or be aware and plan to meet their expectation within four months. Some of the accredited types of organizations include but not limited to are, general hospitals, home care, nursing care centers, behavioral care centers, ambulatory and independent laboratories.

In their efforts to do so the EPA 's purpose is to protect U.S. citizens from being exposed to possible health issues in all aspects of their lives, whether it be at home, school, or even work. These efforts are being made all over the U.S. to try and reduce external costs on U.S. citizens, by using the best info available to the EPA about health risks.
