I have chosen astronomy. I chose this career because I have always been interested in the stars and planets. There are many things that appeal to me about this career such as the way the stars look at night and how colorful nebulas are. I have always been really fascinated with space and when i went to NASA i got to see a lot of different things about space, stars, and nebulas. You should have the ability to solve complex problems, conduct research and accurately analyze data. I am suited for this career because i am a very quick learner when it comes to science. Also, I can convey information very well and use critical thinking to solve major problems. There are a few related occupations to being an astronomer, for example, there are natural science managers which plan or coordinate activities in fields such as life sciences, physical sciences, and mathematics, to name a few. The career that fascinates me and what I plan to be when Im older, is a Dental Hygienist. A dental hygienist is a stressful job, but it helps a lot of people. You are helping people get better teeth and even look better, because when people have straight pretty teeth, they seem to have an upgrade in their looks. The Mauna Kea Observatories are used for scientific research across the electromagnetic spectrum and comprise the largest facility in the world. There are eleven different countries using telescopes to observe these observatories. This site is important and unique for astronomy for several reasons. I am studying a Psychology degree and this field I have chosen really interests me because I have a passion for helping people. Generally, I am that type of person to put other's happiness and well-being before my own, because it makes me feel like I have a sense of purpose.
