Bandura conducted a study which was named Bobo the Doll study. He analysed violence on the TV and if it impacted the children who were watching it. There were 72 individuals who were involved in which there was 36 girls and 36 boys. He had divided the children into groups to fill up three environments which he had set up which were they following; 24 aggressive role model, 24 non-aggressive role model and 24 control group with no model. In each group they had 12 individuals, 6 boys and 6 girls. In these conditions children were individually directed to a room containing toys and this was during the point when 24 children watched a male or female model behaving aggressively towards a doll. People can be affected like this due to the fact of their lifestyle as a child as it can manipulate their personality watching the way others behave, to a child, parents’ are a role model as to which they will copy them and this will become their personality. This is because if they have been told from a young age that this is an acceptable way to behave then they will continue to act this way and repeat the actions that they’ve been taught due to the fact they haven’t been disciplined for the actions that they are enforcing upon other people. Furthermore, another example would be if a child is in a fight and the parents encourage to hit back hander and then they then get rewarded for it, they are more likely to keep on copying this behaviour as they enjoy being rewarded from their role model. This is an example of operant conditioning and positive reinforcement. However, if the child hit somebody and received a negative consequence then the child will not be as likely to commit the action again. This refers to different groups in society which are specific in different countries. An example of a cultural difference could be the lifestyle you live in your home, for example some families eat dinner around a table whereas some families eat their dinner watching TV in the living room. Similarly, the way you live in a home as some families like to live with their older generations such as their grandparents, parents and siblings under one roof, whereas some people move out when their 18 and move in with friends and family. Working and getting involved with people who have a different culture to everybody else is important due to the fact it might differentiate how they are in the working environment. An example would be in France school children and families like to reunite at 12pm so they can eat dinner together whereas in the UK people stay in school for their lunch and the workplace. Therefore, if somebody who worked in France had this specification they might have to inform their boss of their cultural norms so they can work out an alternative
