The reading served as a reminder for what I wish to accomplish in my life. Ben Fountain is an example of patience and persistence. In any career, there will be rejection. A rejection doesn’t mean failure. There are two options when it comes to rejection give up, or get back up and try again. Success is something that has to be worked at. Yes, of course, others and well me, would like everything to happen instantly. These days it seems like the younger generation, my generation thinks that the world owes them something. It doesn’t. People have to work hard, be patient and be persistence, a break will come eventually. If success doesn’t happen in your 20s, it doesn’t mean that you have failed. This is a lesson I had to learn myself. When I was
Think of success like watching a tree grow the branches split into different paths one can take each split is another opportunity to prosper and grow beautiful leaves like trophies. An uncommon belief is that the process of becoming successful is like a tree branch, if one starts off strong, more paths appear growing from the sturdy branch, and achieving goals lead to leaves growing to show wealth. “It is those who are successful, in other words, who are most likely to be given the kinds of special opportunities that lead to further success,” (Gladwell 30). Author of nonfiction book Outliers: The Story of Success, Malcolm Gladwell, agrees with this uncommon belief, in his book he argues that success does not come from intelligence or passion
So why isn’t everyone successful? Some believe that success is only a matter of will and only a person can decide if they want to become successful or not. This is not true; a person’s background ultimately
Not everyone can be successful. Some people were put on this Earth to achieve, while others were born into a cursed life. It’s nothing personal, it’s just fate. Many will argue that success can be achieved with enough hard work and determination. It is commonly believed that anyone can aspire to be anything if they want.
Success, after all, is what most human beings are striving for in their life, whether it is a successful marriage, successful business, successful family and their success in overall happiness. Cardone showed that there is no scarcity when it comes to success, that I cannot let others success limit the boundaries of the success I want. “Success is not a lottery, bingo, a horse race or a card game that allows for only one winner” (Cardone 58). That if I want success, I need to realize that success is created and not won. It truly has no limits and I can have as much as I want.
I have succeeded and failed in so many things. When I fail, I get back up and try again. I failed when I tried out for Booker T. Washington High School for Performing and Visual Arts. It was very depressing, but I got back up. This year I was trying out for Booker T. Washington High School of Preforming and Visual Art in the dance cluster.
Many believe that success is a random occurrence in a person's life, but it not, success is created. Malcolm Gladwell's book, Outliers, discusses many reasons
Ben and Jerry 's Ice Cream is a world known ice cream Inc. It’s hard to believe that they were not born with silver spoon in their mouth because of where they are now. Ben Cohen was a dropout and Jerry Greenfield did not get into medical school but both manage to become very successful people. Their lives took a completely different direction from where they started but their goal still remained the same: Success. (Eion”10 Great lessons highly successful people have learned from Failure”).
For me, success has always been in black and white. I create a picture of what I want in my head, work towards that goal, and if I fall short of it, I am left in a place of distress. This mindset is similar to that of Jay Gatsby from The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Gatsby paints a picture of success in his mind, and in order to make this picture a reality, he escapes his past and accumulates money through illegal business to live a wealthy lifestyle. Though my pursuit of perfection is not as insatiable as his, I resonate with his desire to live the life he wants.
Human ambition is a powerful force that can drive individuals to achieve their goals, but it can also lead to their downfall. Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and William Shakespeare's Macbeth are two literary works that explore the theme of ambition and its consequences. In this essay, unchecked ambition will be explored through the characters of Victor Frankenstein and Macbeth to demonstrate how human ambition must be controlled. Through the examination of the theme of ambition in Frankenstein and Macbeth, it becomes certain that unchecked ambition can lead to corruption, moral decay, and tragic outcomes for the characters involved. Both Frankenstein and Macbeth show the excitement that ambition holds for Victor Frankenstein and Macbeth.
To reap you must sew, so without working hard it will be difficult for one to be successful. In today's world competitive world everyone wants to be wealthy and successful. Whether it may be a successful actor, designer, realtor, or inventor luck had nothing to do with it, but hard work does. When it came to The American Dream, people believed that if they worked hard enough they would be able to sustain a better life for those behind them. Success may be described as the realization of any goal.
Just because you fail once, doesn’t mean you just stop and give up, you try harder the next time to accomplish your dreams and it could lead you to a successful
Failure is an inevitable part of life, one cannot be successful in everything they partake in. Teenagers are prone to failure due to inexperience and immaturity. There have been several moments in my life where I was less than perfect. Those moments are not what define me, but how I respond to these challenges that strengthens my character. I am a firm believer that an individual has not failed until one has given up, because when someone relinquishes their drive they stop moving forward.
The first factor I attribute my success to is my deep involvement in sports. My choice to forfeit much of my time to pursuits in field hockey keep me fit and most importantly balanced. I also am very focused on the future; I set lofty goals and I understand the difficulty that may impede me due to systematic barriers based on gender etc, but instead of being discouraged I work even harder to work toward their accomplishment. Finally my parents are supportive in my pursuits even if they disagree with my opinions, which is very helpful; they support my goals and push me to push
I realize that not everything will work out the way I want it to all of the time but that does not mean I have failed. I learned how to not rely on other people and how to get things done when it matters most. The last thing I learned is more effort equals better results. These realizations will all help me as I journey from high school into college and eventually into adulthood. Working toward my goal of opening my own orthopedic doctor’s office, I will be constantly be facing challenges like the ones I am facing right now.
We all have heard this saying. But who actually follows it? We all are in a hurry to grow into something big. Success is not achieved overnight. It is a result of a continuous process.
