The Mystery Of Biggie’s Death
There are thousands of unsolved crimes in the world. But the murder of Biggie Smalls seems to be the most “notorious” one. The mystery of the Notorious B.I.G. can be summed up into 2 theories. One being that he was killed in retaliation for Tupac Shakur’s murder, the other being that the officers from LAPD killed Smalls and covered it up.
Even though Smalls was loved by millions of people he still had a dark and dangerous life. “Christopher G. Wallace was born in 1973, in Brooklyn, New York and died of multiple gunshot wounds in Los Angeles on March 9th, 1997 at the age of 24.” (Notorious B.I.G. 1). When he was killed, Wallace was riding in the passenger seat of a GMC Suburban when a Toyota Land Cruiser pulled up alongside him at the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue. (History 2). After his death, Cathy Scott noted that Suge Knight was sitting in the driver’s seat next to the rapper. (Duke 2). Police found out he was struck with 4 rare, metal piercing 9mm ammo manufactured in Europe. Those bullets are only sold in certain California and New Jersey shops. Shakur had long accused Biggie of stealing his style and of involvement in Shakur’s robbery and attempted murder in the lobby of a Manhattan recording studio in 1994. (Eustachewich 4). Since Tupac thought he did that, in 1996 he released the diss song “Hit ‘Em Up”, which he alluded to sleeping with Biggie’s wife, Evans. After Tupac died, Biggie’s wife Evans told MTV news that her husband was distraught over Shakur’s death. Evan’s later recalled that Biggie “feared for his own life.” (Eustachewich 4). This theory seems true but some people were skeptical considering Biggie was distraught over Tupac’s death so there’s no way he was involved in his murder.
