The book Night is about escaping because it’s either that or death. In a couple times of the book they have a chance of escaping. Like when Moshe the beadle was crammed onto the cattle train he manages to escape. He came back running to house to house telling everyone about the trains. The trains would make their way into Poland then taken over by the gestapo. The Jews were put in trucks and then driven into the forest in Galicia. Where they were forced to dig their own pits. Then when they finished digging they would be killed and put in the pits then burned. Babies were thrown up in the air used for targets by the Nazis. The Nazis also had machinery, guns, and camps. Eliezer and his family were crammed into a cattle wagon with 80 others.
English Night Essay The book Night, it is about a teenager named Elie that goes through the holocaust with his father. Elie and his father experienced starvation, injuries and physical abuse. After reading Night, one might wonder why German people do nothing to stop the concentration camps. The people of Germany kept silent because, they were scared of Hitler’s power and, they were scared of losing their own lives.
The second world war (WWII) was one of the most widespread and deadliest wars. This lasted for six years from 1939 to 1945. During this war, Hitler was appointed chancellor of Germany, causing the Holocaust. Because of this, more than fifty million military and civilians died. At the time, Elie Wiesel was fifteen years old when him and his family were forced to leave their home.
In the book Night, the author describes his life being a prisoner for the Nazis. In this book, we are described with how Eli survived and what he and his father went through. We learn about how the prisoners were treated in the concentration camps. In the next two paragraphs, I will be sharing my opinion on what I think are the two most terrifying experiences the author, Eli, had to endure.

Hope was shown when Elie was trapped under bodies; he was motivated by hope to survive. In the book he said “ I succeeded to digging a hole in the wall of dead and dying people , a small hole through which I could drink a little air.”
In the memoir Night was written by Elie Wiesel in 1955, 10 years after the events happened. This book is about the Holocaust, there were about 4-6 million victims of the Holocaust. The Holocaust happened between the years 1933 and 1945. Elie was a survivor of the Holocaust and wrote this memoir of the tragic events that happened to him and other people. In the first three chapters of this story, Wiesel tells about the way his life was changed and he was dehumanized and left with nothing of his old life.

Elie Wiesel changed from a spiritual, sensitive little boy to a spiritually dead unemotional man because before the holocaust he had a good life and family. Then during the Holocaust he lost everything and was poorly treated. Before the Holocaust Wiesel had a good life and had fun. He would go to school and believed in God.

In class we read the nonfiction book, Night by Elie Wiesel. It is a story about Elie, as a young teen, being a victim of the Holocaust and the gruesome situations he been in. In the book Elie says, “The world is not interested in us” (Wiesel 33). I believe that this statement is true. The world did not do anything to save the Jewish people and just observed them being treated like objects.

From 1933 to 1945 millions of Jewish people were dehumanized and treated like everything but a human being. After the Holocaust, it was discovered that 6 million Jews were killed.
For many people, they have to put themselves above all others in order to have a hope of life. They have to take the resources they can, while they can, which can make them feel guilty and selfish. Though there has been many survivors of the Holocaust and the Rwanda Genocide, They are shallow numbers compared to the death tolls. One survivor of the Holocaust is Elie Weisel. Some time after the Holocaust, he wrote a book(Night) about his time there. One survivor of the Rwanda Genocide is Valentina. She has shared her stories of survival with others, to show that you can survive any challenge if you keep fighting the odds.

The book Night was written by Eliezer Wiesel who was a Holocaust survivor. His story began as a fifteen-year boy in the town of Sighet in Romania. He and his family were deported in May 1944 by Hungarian and German militaries. They were sent to Birkenau by train where Elie and Chlomo, his father, had to leave his mother and sister (Wiesel 18).
