The book Night, is very upsetting to most people, but it talks about an actual view of somebodies experience in World War Two, and how things actually were.
World War Two, was the most destructive conflict in history. It lasted from 1939-1945, Adolf Hitler (the Leader of the Nazi’s) was determined to pretty much invade Poland, and they did. Two days later, France and Britain declared war on Germany. That is when the war broke out. Then, around the 1940’s he invaded Norway, and occupied Denmark. The Soviet troops then invaded Poland from the east. They took the people from the places they invaded, and placed them in concentration camps. Families were separated, some people were killed right when they arrived at the camp, and some even died on their way to the camp because it was crowded and everybody was starving, and it was just total chaos. The Nazi’s did not even consider the Jewish people to be human. The Jews were forced to do all types of things such as, burn bodies, clean, and so much more. Working was their way to survive the camp, but most people didn’t make it until the end, when the Americans saved the ones who were still alive.

It is called Holocaust Denial, and the Holocaust Denial is the act of denying the genocide of the Jews during World War two (genocide means killing a large group of people, mainly ethnic groups). Which is apparently illegal in some countries. Many believe that the Nazi’s final solution was to deport the Jews from the Reich. Some people say they did not use gas chambers or extermination camps for mass murder. Or, that the number of Jewish people killed were much lower than what was claimed, the people that deny how many people were killed say it was an “exaggeration”. They even say Anne Frank's diary was forgery. The deniers say it was just all one big hoax, and that World War Two never
Micaela Ladjevic Professor Hernandez English 1 Honors October 25, 2017 Title In Elie Wiesel’s holocaust narrative, Night, Elie is a sixteen year old boy who lives during World War II and the Holocaust. In the midst of Elie’s World War II experience, Elie has an extra burden weighing him down-- his father.
The book ¨Night¨ is written by a Holocaust survivor and and Nobel Peace Prize winner, Elie Wiesel, who went through terrible things during his time in German captivity. The events were unforgettable and life changing. He stayed with his father through all of these tough times. He escaped the terror of the Holocaust turning him into a savage even though it caused attacks from prisoners and insanity.
The second world war (WWII) was one of the most widespread and deadliest wars. This lasted for six years from 1939 to 1945. During this war, Hitler was appointed chancellor of Germany, causing the Holocaust. Because of this, more than fifty million military and civilians died. At the time, Elie Wiesel was fifteen years old when him and his family were forced to leave their home.
Night, a beautifully written book by Eli Wiesal. He tells the story of what went on in the Holocaust and the struggles he faced to live through it. Elie constantly gets abused and treated like a pest throughout the whole book. The holocaust changed him and almost made him lose his will to live, humanity, and his family. He still powered through until he got liberated by America.
“Night” is a powerful Memoir with 178 pages and was published by New York, NY: Hill and Wang, a division of Farrar, Straus and Giroux. Written by Elie Wiesel and published in 1956, this autobiography is about Elie’s experience with his father in the Nazi Germany concentration camps in 1944-1945 during the Holocaust. I believe the author’s purpose in writing this memoir was to write about the cruelty of the Nazi soldiers in the concentration camps and to be a voice for the Jews, specifically his family. He wanted to be the “messenger of the dead among the living”.
Just imagine that you lost everything in just one night. You had to give everything up, leaving all your belongings behind and even your house. Who knows for how many years when all of them will be back, if some of them do back it. Maybe one day they would be reunited with all their family ,their house and all your belongings. In the book Night, the main character is Elie Wiesel and in Between Shades of Gray the main character is Lina.
In the book Night Eliezer came face to face to some of his greatest fears, separating with his family, didn’t know where they were going but all at once he felt changed. He didn’t feel like God was with him, he felt as if he vanished. They go to many concentration camps and work many hours, go through tons of selections, train trip, and running miles a day. Your time at the camp is either life or death swaying back and forth. “Never shall I forget those moments that murdered my God and my soul that turned my dreams to ashes.”
Night is a book that is based off the true story of Elie Wiesel living his life through the holocaust. The book is written in first person as Elie lives through the horror of World War ll. In the Holocaust encyclopedia, their article affirms
To be Human How does one remain himself as everything he has ever known is ripped away from him? Elie Wiesel recalls his own experiences with this challenge in his self written book, Night. David Irving is probably the most infamous Holocaust denier in society today. Irving has been jailed several times for his points of view within the Holocaust revisionist community as in a lot of places Holocaust denial is illegal. According to news site The Guardian Irving had pleaded guilty to denying the Holocaust in two speeches on a visit to Austria in 1989, but said at the trial that he had later changed his views. Most of his speeches included the Gas Chamber theory . The original claim that historians believe is that between 1940 and 1945 most of the Jewish population which were killed in Gas chambers where it is believed that Nazi soldiers would tell Jews who were imprisoned in the concentration camps (such as Auschwitz and Majdanek) that they were going to have a shower.
Holocaust denial consists of claims that the genocide of Jews during World War II did not occur at all, or that it did not happen in the manner or to the extent historically recognized ("Holocaust Denial"). David Irving, a popular Holocaust denier, claimed in a speech in Portland, Oregon, "Yes, hundreds of thousands of people were killed, but there were no factories of death" ("Representative Quotes"). Deborah Lipstadt, an American historian, author and Holocaust denier, reports that a 1993 Roper Poll found that twenty two percent of American adults and twenty percent of American high school students believe that it is possible that the Holocaust didn't happen. A 1993 Newsweek poll found that a full forty percent of American adults express
As states above there are so many resources and pieces of physical evidence to stand by the victims of the holocaust and to jusitfy their struggles, yet many seem to completely disregard it. The psycology behind the mindsets of those who create their own history is a much larger topic in itself. The denial and refusal to accept what occurred is further bringing down the generation of today and filling the vocalities with lies. The examples of present day anti semitism is nealry endless, one example we see is described by the US department of state as they say, “Holocaust distortion can also involve minimizing the impact of the Holocaust or claiming that fewer people were killed than has been established by overwhelming evidence. Holocaust distortion is a form of antisemitism
The US should also be teaching about the Holocaust in schools. The right to freedom of speech should not allow Holocaust denial. Freedom of speech does not mean people can say anything they want and not get in trouble. For instance people cannot go to an airport and yell bomb or go to a movie theater and yell fire without getting in trouble.
Throughout human history, many things have happened. We all have done bad and good things to others and have forgotten that “all men are created equal.” In the book Night, was written by Elie Wiesel, the author has brought me into to a new world of experiencing how, specifically, human have done wrongly things to others. Started with hatred, the Nazi Party turned themselves into what’s called “mass murders” mainly targeted to the Jewish. They were the army that under-controlled by Adolf Hitler.
