Williams Shakespeare’s plays are real eye openers when it comes to human nature which is why we read it today. Characters in Macbeth showed a lot of signs of change. Change happened to most of characters. After reading Macbeth you come to to the conclusion that there is no true hero and there is definitely not a true villain. Lady Macbeth at first was seen as a villain because of her actions, but her image as the villain began to fade away as the play progressed. Reading Macbeth opened my eyes to the fact of their is no set hero or a set villain. In the beginning of the play Macbeth was seen as the hero because of his position and his authority. He was see as the hero because he was the general and he seemed to be happy where he was. At first when it came down to being king, Macbeth was humble when it came to being. He wasn 't against being king, but he just didn 't want to rush. For example in Act 1, Scene 3, he reveals “(aside) If chance will have me king, why, chance may crown me without my stir.” What he is saying is if fate wants him to be king, perhaps it will make it happen and he won 't have to do anything. At first when the “prophecy” was revealed to Macbeth he didn 't pay too much attention to it because he didn 't believe in it. Macbeth also states in Act 1, Scene 3, that “(aside) Come what come may, time and the hour runs through the roughest day.” Life will go on for Macbeth one way or another, whats going to happen is going to happen.
