The Declaration of Independence states that “all men are created equal, that [we] are endowed by [our] Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” As your fellow colonist, it is my duty to compel you to join hands with the other colonists and help America gain justice and independence. Great Britain has violated our God-given rights and equality over and over again. But it does not have to stay this way. If- no, when- we separate from Britain, our government will use checks and balances and there will be separation of power, as well as being democratic, giving the people a voice. This will negate the risk of a government gaining an abundance power. Each part of the government will rely on another, with no branch gaining too much power. In the compound republic of America, the powers surrendered by the people is first divided between two governments (DOC A), the two governments being state and federal. The state and federal government will have separate and shared powers(DOC A) because of this, one government won’t become too powerful. In Source B, the letter from Abigail Adams shows how men had “unlimited power,” and women did not have the ability to vote, own property, or speak out in Congress. In Source C, it conveys how Slavery provoked unfair rights, embittered lives, and the loss of natural rights.
The reason behind a divide of political power is to prevent any forms of Tyranny that could, in the eyes of the early American people, mimic George III. Which would lead to a control of administration and the military/police forces, and would imprison those who would stand in their way, this would lead to oppression and death, as was demonstrated in the Revolutionary War. The best way to prevent such a centralized government in the United States so that it would not repeat such a cycle would be to divide the state’s power up into three parts. Each would remain separate in order to keep a balance, each focusing on an aspect of government in order to keep the government from collapsing on itself. While each has a job to perform there is still the threat of having one of the three branches that could over throw the other two, the Constitution creates a series of “Checks and Balances” that are issued for each branch in the off chance there is a power struggle between them.

The quote is the initial statement in the Declaration of Independence. However, John Calhoun made an argument about equality by claiming that the doctrine claiming all men to be born free and equal is a false and dangerous constitutional error. Calhoun also creates a sustained argument that refutes politics by a Lockean understanding of equality. In this case, he offers his personal explanation in regards to why men are not eligible for an equal amount of liberty.

As a Patriot, I believe that Britain is a very cruel country that is ruining our lives. With the high taxes and the harsh laws, they are just taking our money and our ability to live our lives on our own, without any force from anyone else. I want my fellow colonists to live a life without pain and suffering. I would like them to live a free life, not a life controlled by the British. Would you like to life a life where you are forced to pay high taxes to a king who is abusing power?

The world is not prepared for the form of government. America is not united and will break away easily if the government decides to change, and other countries will take advantage of their weakness. Little issues like feminism, no wi-fi, colds, and other first world problems break up the nation. If something this dramatic was to happen, there is no way anybody could invasion the catastrophe it could create. The population would have no chance against a whole government and their enforcers.
