Zombies may not be crawling out of their graves just yet, but they are certainly consuming the minds of many people across the nation. Some news stations have released reports about strange instances where people have been known to behave like zombies and attack others. Sure they may have been under the influences of specific drugs, but it makes one think about whether or not the zombie apocalypse could really happen. In the article “My Zombie, Myself: Why Modern Life Feels Rather Undead” Chuck Klosterman chooses to depict a notion of how zombies may already be walking the Earth. He discusses how relentless emails and annoying responsibilities create a round-about way of life in which all the roads lead to no outlet. Many

They face numerous obstacles within their path which they must vanquish. Each of these obstacles growing in difficulty as time progresses. This can be compared to the modern day work life which Klosterman discusses. Theoretically speaking, the longer one works, the harder ones work will become. The average worker “levels up” by accepting new jobs or positions which then delegate new tasks. But, Like Destiny, as The Guardian, or worker levels up, rewards are granted as a beneficiary program. For workers, a larger paycheck, for Guardians, a new-larger weapon. The player becoming a zombie can be reinvested as the perfect victim, one that can be killed off without much guilt or even a second glance. If the player were to die in the game, they would just be revived by their ghost and keep going until they completed their task. Klosterman argues also that it is impossible to humanize zombies at all. “You can’t add much depth to a creature who can’t talk, doesn’t think and whose only motive is the consumption of flesh. You can’t humanize a zombie, unless you make it less zombie-esque.” Destiny has challenged that idea to a certain extent. Within the game, the main characters have been known to be killed off without warning. These are the same characters to which the protagonist has worked side-by-side with from the beginning creating a close and personal relationship. But more often than not, these characters make their last appearance on screen as an in-game zombie better known as The Hive. This faction is an ancient festering evil, who has one goal which is to smuggle The Light and let The Darkness reign. Within The Hive, a sub-class of species is created better known as Thrall. These creatures are a plague to the battlefield. Their swarming, twisted frames are driven by an unfettered rage. Basically, these creatures are as close to our modern day zombie which we depict. They keep attacking
Across the country, despite the variance among the occupations, all blue collar workers experience the same hardships. This lifestyle is not easy according to the testimony of those that have endured this way of life. Often times workers experience stress, fatigue, and depression due to the repetitive tasks that they are given (Hurley). To be apart of this culture there is no set of rules or laws that an individual worker must follow. The main principles that this culture is accustomed to is difficult work and dedication.

In the article “My Zombie, Myself: Why Modern Life Feels Rather Undead,” Chuck Klosterman explains how everyday life is like zombies and why they are so popular. Zombies are experiencing an up rise in popularity because they are being used in video games and television shows such as “The Walking Dead”. Zombies are becoming more interesting to watch because any kind of sound or smell of a living human draws their attention. For example, the sound of shooting one zombie attracts others zombies to the person doing the shooting. Zombies are becoming more popular because the audience are able to relate to them in numerous ways.
Those who are bitten by a zombie and those who have recently died are reanimated as a zombie. They retain the ability to move and, as seen at the end of the film, some “primal instincts” like working at the grocery store or playing video games. The zombies are not dead. They are alive and can only be killed by “removing the head, or destroying the brain,” as is said by a newscaster on television (Wright 2004). Death is then seen not as transcendence or a soul being separated from a body, it is simply the destruction of the brain.
In the girl. Curiosity got the better of me, and I resigned myself to stay as long as my schedule allowed, and I watched.” (Zusak 22). He starts to question whether there is more to his existence than stealing souls and whether there is a reason for the pain he sees throughout the story. This internal conflict that Death experiences plays a significant role in Death's character growth since it demonstrates that he is not only a silent emotionless being, but also a being that has his own doubts and problems seen in his own internal
The author Andrew Curry thinks that workers today are unfulfilled because they would rather work a job they do not like and earn more money than work a job that they are passionate about and earn less. He also talks about how people seem to work more than relax in today's age like when he says “instead of working less, our hours have stayed steady or risen.” (Curry, Kirszner and Mandell 399) the evidence that he uses to connect his view is the amount of people who complain about their jobs. Nowadays everyone knows a person that constantly complains about his or her job but they still work that same job because of the financial gain. Many people today hate the job they work but that same job is the reason they have a car, house etc.
Through many decades and years, folklore has been shaping up culture and pretty much said differently over time. Vampires and zombies were the main source of how folklore changed over time, whether it was by stories, the media or how you saw yourself in them everyone had there own aspects of each monster. “ John William Polidori stitched together folklore personal resentment and erotic anxieties into the vampyre, a story that is the basis for vampires as they are understood today” (292). That is how the famous story of vampires started. For zombies in the other hand “ His origins, we learn – we who dabble in the recklessly expanding field of zombie studies – are in Caribbean folk nightmare” (299).
In man’s eyes, zombies are hostile to human nature and can potentially wreak wreck nations. Though it is not definite, the idea of a widespread of the undead eradicating entire species populates from horror films and novels, promoting danger and enhancing terror to the public. In fear of the scenario, humans gather information in preparation for the apocalyptic era. In hope’s to resolve the situation, many great minds guide readers to salvage through literature, often with irrelevant information one can justify. Ali Kahn’s “Preparedness 101: Zombie Apocalypse”, the schematic “How to Survive Zombies” and the Zombie Research Society’s “Mayans Destroyed by Zombies” enhances one’s lack of capability when surviving a zombie apocalypse by writing

The macabre legion was led by a rotting body that was wielding twin sickles of bloodstained bone, riding a skeletal horse. To the right of the twin sickled leader was a humanoid shadow: the color of a black hole with the face of a void led an army of wraiths: floating specters with eerie orange eyes, who had essence and body forcibly separated. It was guarded closely by a group of
