Comparing 'Animal Farm And The Truman Show'

The novel “Animal Farm” Written by George Orwell and the film “The Truman show” directed by Peter Weir are very different but they also share many of the same views. This essay will talk about the “good life”, a “good society” and “power and control”, It will also talk about the differences and similarities between the two texts. “Animal Farm” is about a group of animals that live on a farm that team up and take the farm away from the humans, all is good until three pigs change all of the rules on the other animals without telling them why and how. “The Truman Show” is about a young man named Truman Burbank who discovers that his whole town is strange and feels like they are up to something he soon finds out that they are all in a massive tv show and that he is the main character... So he tries to escape.

What is “The Good Life?” In animal farm. The good life is having no humans to boss them around even though when they get rid of all of the humans three pigs Napoleon, Snowball and Squealer take control straight away. The other animals don’t really mind because all of the humans are gone. In “The Truman Show” the good life is having freedom and being able to go anywhere he wants even if that means going to Fiji. The other animals did not really care too much that the pigs were in control, as all the other animals really cared about was that the humans did not have the power and the control over them. Just like when the pigs started to change the “Seven Commandments” the other animals really were not that fussed. In “The Truman Show” Truman hated all the power and control over his life as all he wanted was to be free and to be able to go to Fiji. In “Animal Farm” they did not care all the much about the power and control whereas in “The Truman Show” Truman hated it and that is why he tried so hard to get out of his puny little town called
