Perfection Lies within Age
In 1898, multiple baking companies within the United States merged together to aid in the formation of the company known as Nabisco. It is because of this blissful merger that possibly two of America’s greatest accomplishments have been discovered; which leads to the question of which of these delicious cookies is better, Oreo or Chips Ahoy? These succulent pleasures are manufactured by the same corporation, and display comparable features such as shape, packaging, and even some ingredients. However, it is the distinct characteristics of each brand that resolved the dispute over which cookie is America’s most wanted. It is practically impossible to contend with something that has been perfected for over a century.

Oreos biggest competitor is another one of America’s top selling cookies, Chips Ahoy. In 1963, Nabisco designed a delicious chocolate chip cookie that would surpass the expectations of many. The Corporation marketed Chips Ahoy as the first factory-made chocolate chip cookie that tastes just as great as homemade (Derby). One reason Chips Ahoy is visually appealing is due to their detectable delicious chocolate chips. Unlike the Oreo, Chips Ahoy offer “real” semi-sweet chocolate chip pieces in their cookies and therefore offer a cure for those who crave chocolate; whereas, Oreos have two chocolate disks that some people argue do not really taste like chocolate. An incredible amount of Americans believes that Chips Ahoy when paired with a glass of milk generate some sort of dynamic duo; the two unite and create a bond that complement one another; the cookie stays crunchy and the glass of milk obtains the added bonus of a slight chocolate taste. But even so, when comparing the two, Oreo’s seems to be the less dunkable cookie; if dunked, an Oreo will crumble apart, leaving a granular type texture of particles in the bottom of the glass and only the residue of the cookie left in your hand. If that is not bad enough, Oreos may leave tiny chocolate particles all over your teeth, which can cause embarrassment in public settings. In comparison, Chips Ahoy cookies …show more content…
Yes, it is true that Oreos are not the best cookie to eat with milk, yes, they do crumble, and yes, Oreo may leave chocolate crumb residue on your teeth; these simple details do not disqualify Oreo from being one of America’s leading cookie. Oreo cookies do not have a fictitious Superhero linked to their name and nor do they need one; Oreo cookie sell themselves therefore, do not require the manufacture to create some fantasy to entice the viewing audience. According to the Annual Survey of Manufacturers, which is published by the US Census Bureau, in 2012, Oreo cookies sold five-hundred and twenty-eight million cookies opposed to Chips Ahoy who sold five-hundred and nineteen million cookies
Candy Candy is one of the best inventions in human civilization and is one of the most favored treats of all time. Two of the most well known candies are Jolly Rancher and Tootsie Roll. There are many arguments about which one is better in different aspects. I personally love Jolly Ranchers. In my opinion, I believe Jolly Ranchers are better than Tootsie Rolls.

The Twinkie, an infamous treat among today’s health conscious era has been an American staple since its debut in 1930. Writer Bich Minh Nguyen praises this treat’s ability to evoke nostalgia in its consumers throughout her essay Goodbye to My Twinkie Days. This Golden delicacy simple as it may be to most holds a special place in her heart. When she learned that Hostess who is well-known for mass-producing Twinkies was going out of business she went out and grabbed a box for old time sake. The significance of this lies in her childhood, due to her being the child of Vietnamese immigrants she viewed Twinkies as a “Ticket to assimilation” (Nguyen 172).
Should Candy & Soda be Banned From School? J. Justin Wilson effectively uses rhetorical techniques in his short article, arguing about whether or not candy and soda should be banned from schools. Mr. Wilson was dominant in appealing to logic reason to support his argument. His ideology is that the government needn’t intervene in the lives of young adults by eliminating fat foods from school, paying particular attention on candy and soda. He states, “when faced with a problem as complicated as our nation 's childhood obesity epidemic, it 's easier to simply assign blame to sugary drinks and snacks, rather than tackling the various roots of the problem” (Wilson, para 5).
Williams is a celebrity which will make someone want to go buy a Snickers. However, the commercial’s use of the either/or fallacy makes it weak. It introduces the fact that if a person doesn’t eat a Snickers when he or she is hungry then he won’t be able to satisfy his hunger. Besides, it is not proven that eating a Snickers bar can help satisfy a person’s hunger. Though the commercial uses pathos and ethos effectively, the exaggeration of the product and the either/or fallacy was ultimately its downfall.

Evaluating this hoax, I believe this false argument about eating Cheeseburger Oreo does not have logic because those guys were only trying the take a higher rating on their videos, making fun of it. I will never try that combination of food just because looks really weird both, too salted and too sweet at the same time. I showed this video to my daughter, and she said “that will taste good, I will try it”. I argue that “how that would taste good if you never tried it before, just because they make you believed that is good”. I was trying to understand her point, but she does not have a strong argument to prove her
This quote documents the introduction of Shredded Wheat and Cracker Jack at the Chicago world’s fair of 1893 thus marking their first exposure to the American populous. The addictive food that is sold by supermarkets is made to appeal to the consumers’ taste and make them addicted to it. In Michael Moss’ “The Extraordinary Science of Addictive Junk Food,” he mentions that the potato chip is a snack that provides a feeling of pleasure as well as a rewarding sensation in the brain through its coating of salt and fat (490). Small details food companies put in the food make a difference in the taste, which tends to attract more consumers without them aware of how they are being addicted to the food. In food companies’ perspective, the engineering of food to add more flavor and attract more consumers has no issue since it is how companies make their profits. Stephen Sanger, head of General Mills and the Yoplait brand, was able to produce $500 million in revenue from a new dessert that originated from the yogurt since it maintains a nutritive image with consumers (Moss 475-476).
