Heroes aren't supposed to save your life. They're supposed to encourage you to save it on your own.

He*ro /hiro/ noun; A person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. Coretta Scott King was an activist for equal rights for people of color. She worked with her husband, Martin Luther King Jr., but she was a hero all on her own. One example of her work is that in 1957, she traveled to Ghana to mark the nations independence. I believe that a hero is someone is willing to try even when it seems impossible. Someone that I believe was willing to try, was Coretta Scott King, she is my hero because she an undying amount of determination, an unbreakable bravery, and an unwavering perseverance.

Determination is when you see a problem and you look for a solution even when it's hard. Coretta has shown determination on multiple different occasions. One occasion was when MLK was assassinated and 4 days later, she led the MLK march. Another example of Coretta's determination was when she was working her way towards a bachelor degree in music. Which she got in 1951. Coretta was also offered a fellowship to New England conservatory of music. That determination is what made her want to change the world. So she did. …show more content…

Coretta was brave up to the end. On several occasions she has made her bravery known to the world. One example of this bravery is when she asked for a retrial for MLK's alleged assassin James Earl Ray. Only for him to pass away a year later in 1998. Another example of her bravery was when she boycotted riding the bus in 1955. She may have not been the only person there boycotting, but it was brave of her to be there and strengthen those voices of misunderstood people.
