Jon Stewart himself may not be an indignant person but he becomes indignant throughout the skit when addressing the comments of Glenn Beck on progressives. Throughout the skit he sarcastically yells out how progressives want to “control every aspect of your life,” he also says mockingly that progressives are a “malignancy to the body of politics.” Slippery slope fallacy is implemented throughout the scene along with the use of indignation, for example when he cynically says, “Progressives if you believe in a minimum safety net for the nations needs then you believe in total and absolute government control,” after this he becomes irate and yells at the audience, “YOU’RE ABSOLUTELY MOTHER FUCKING RIGHT.” This use of indignation and slippery slope fallacy by Stewart is to mock the damaging ideologies that are presented by Glenn Beck and to start discussion on this ideology, Beck himself and the gullible people who believes the absurdity he spews. Using satire on this kind of subject is the safest way to provide commentary because it exposes the hypocrisy and contradicting statements made by Glenn Beck that may be overlooked, while being

Many audiences of stand up comedy enjoy hearing their favorite comedian entertain them. But what would one think when a comedian cracks a joke about a sensitive topic, for example, a tragedy that affected hundreds of people. Some may argue that, comedians are not supposed to overstep the boundary of controversial jokes. These controversial jokes are linked with political correctness—which is used to describe language, policies, and measures that are taken to avoid offense to certain groups of people.
