Some people would disagree when it comes to this topic. Some people feel they are standing up for their rights but the others say they disrespect the flag and fallen soldiers by protesting and standing for their rights. Explain the significance of (and what happened at) the Battles at Concord and Lexington. At the Battle at Lexington, the first first stand off between the British and the Americans took place. This was a significant part of the Revolutionary War because this was the first battle of the revolution and the location where the first shot was fired. The origin of that shot was unknown, but it was the reason the revolution began.
During the mid-1700’s after “Seven Years War”, the British became submerged under a massive debt from fighting in one of the empire’s most expensive war. To absorb the impact of the war debt, Prime Minister of England George Grenville, shifted part of the war debt to Britain’s colonies. Throughout the mid-1700’s Britain imposed intolerable acts upon the colonies such as the sugar act, stamp act, tea act, coercive acts, so on and so forth. Though the colonies trying to fight for representation so taxes can be passed with a majority’s approval instead of members of parliament making colonists decisions, never declared a full on war with the mother country or even wanted to separate in the first place.

Shortly after that they created the Stamp Act, the act made colonist to purchase stamps on many different household items like newspaper or birth certificates. All these Acts added up to the Townshend Acts in 1767.
The United states is doing a considerable job of preserving the principles the Declaration of Independance.
