Democrats vs. Republicans Since the late 1700’s our nation has become split between Democrats and Republicans. Between the two parties there is a lot of tension. On the days of any election many people vied hoping their party can take part in governmental decisions. Each party shares different voices and opinions on many different topics such as abortion, taxes, death penalty and many more. The most crucial part of any election is to remain faithful to your beliefs. As the years progressed our government shifted and in general has formed bias communities, which overall as affected our country as well. A capital crime includes varies murder situations, such as first degree murder, murder of a law official, murder committed using firearms and many more. Democrats do not approve of the death penalty, they believe that false accusations can be made and that the wrong person can be convicted and take the consequences for someone else’s action. As of September 3, 2014, 146 people from 26 different states have been exculpated. That is only over a course of two months with DNA testing. When the death penalty first came to be there was no test that could save your life, if you were innocent. Back in 1796 there were more than 10 innocent people killed and today about 4.1 percent of the people executed are innocent, and that’s more than enough. I think it is un fair to families, friends and the defendant to have their life taken if they are not guilty, If the law officials cannot prove whether or not the defendant is guilty then the death penalty should be abolished. Now on the other side, executing someone who is actually guilty; I do not support this either. I strongly believe that someone who commits a capital crime and has received the death penalty deserves to suffer for the rest of their life. Democratic leaders will be the ones to change the death penalty. They will be the ones to stop many innocent deaths each year and help the ones that deserve to suffer;
