The Princess Bride vs. The Movie
“The Princess Bride” was basically about how Buttercup was deeply in love with Westley. Although the girls were jealous of her because the village boys kept talking to her she really didn’t care about brushing her hair or washing her face. Prince Humperdinck father was not going to be king anymore, so he had to find a princess to marry. Unfortunately, he didn’t want to marry a bald girl. So, they find another person for him which was Buttercup. Even though, Buttercup didn’t want to marry to because she was in love with Westley. There were many things discussed in the book that wasn’t mentioned in the movie. For instance, Westley was tortured by the Count but in the movie, he was only tortured by Prince Humperdinck and they kept raising the levels up. When Buttercup told the Prince that she doesn’t want to marry him he looked her in her room and ran to where Westley was and raised it to fifty. Inigo and Fezzik wanted to go look for Westley, so they found him dead and

He was very excited about this machine and tested it on Westley. The Count made him live for 65 years (Goldman 263). Prince Humperdinck was the one that killed Westley (Goldman 283). William Goldman basically made up this story called, “The Princess Bride” (Goldman Introduction). It was also his favorite book, it was written in many languages (Goldman,24). Unfortunately, Goldman didn’t end the book right, he could have a feature where Buttercup married Westley instead of them leaving the castle at the end of the book. Goldman wanted you to think that the Prince was envious that Buttercup loved Westley that’s why he tortured Westley so bad. It was one of the reasons that she had dreams of having

The way people change and create new characters can effect entire storylines and plots. Sometimes people change important characters for more views, audience members, or readers. For example, in Washington Irving’s book “Sleepy Hollow” and Tim Burton’s movie “Sleepy Hollow” the main character was a completely different person. While the movie and book version of Sleepy Hollow have the same story line, the two main characters couldn’t be anymore different.
These characters are Westley and Buttercup. In the story, Prince Humperdinck needed a bride so he took Buttercup, not knowing that her heart was for someone else. The plot starts by Humperdinck forcing her to marry on page 72 saying “I am your Prince and you cannot refuse… Refusal means death.” (Goldman, 72) With this, it can be proven that he has forced her with his power. Westley on the other hand sacrifices his life to save the one he loves, Buttercup.

Love Will Triumph Two fairytales express the meaning of what true love is. In The Princess Bride there is a noble farm girl Buttercup, who is later sought to be wed to a prince, Prince Humperdinck. Rapunzel from Tangled who has been held captive by Mother Gothel; who Rapunzel thought was her mother. These tales might have a few similarities, although different to some extent still alike. The book The Giver, a dystopian novel by Lois Lowry, and its movie adaptation have many similarities and differences. There are many aspects of Lowry’s story that remain the same in both versions of it. Generally, the characters, setting, plot, and events stay true to the book. However, in the movie interpretation there are some things that are changed and made different from the original book. Many things are changed in the film, and these separate the movie from the book quite a bit.
There was a feud going on between the two families that lead to a series of tragedies. In the play and movie of Romeo and Juliet there were two young teens. One was named Juliet, her mother was forcing her to marry a guy named Paris. However she did not want to marry Paris. Then there was Romeo who was from a different household; that happened to be enemies with the Capulet household.

I don’t think that anyone was really asking for a live action “remakes of Disney’ animated movies, but it seems like we are getting them any way. Kenneth Branaugh’s “Cinderella” was fine, “Maleficent” was fine, I don’t know if Tim Burton’s 2010 “Alice in Wonderland” fits in the same family, but we have been getting big budget mediocre Disney remakes pretty often with a ton more announced. Jon Favreau’s “The Jungle Book” took it’s source material and improved upon it, making a movie that people can’t help but love and be in awe of. “The Jungle Book” is directed by Jon Favreau and stars Neel Sethi with the voices of Bill Murray, Idris Elba, Ben Kingsley, and Christopher Walken. When Mowgli is threatened by Shere-Khan, he decides to leave the

Pearl Harbor was based on the actual attack on Pearl Harbor so their were many similarities to show what actually happened. In the first scene of the Japanese raid, a low-flying Japanese plane flew over Oahu and it passed over a sandlot baseball field where the pilot warned the children of the attack. This similarity is shown when, “The [Japanese] tail gunner waves at the kids below, warning them to take cover before bombs begin to fall” (Robert Sullivan, Daniel S. Levy). Also the main characters are based on actual men and their actions. The main characters, Rafe McCawley and Danny Walker, are based on George Welch and Kenneth Taylor who were two of the few pilots that were able to become airborne and engage the Japanese attackers.
You can’t complete a jigsaw puzzles if pieces are missing; you can’t expect to have a great movie adaptations when important details are cut out. It doesn’t bother me that Katniss’s shirt was green in the book and yellow in the movie; I don’t care that Annabeth’s hair was brown and not blonde, and I really don’t understand why everyone is so upset that the cornucopia from the Hunger Games was silver and not gold. These details have zero effect on the plot. What effects the plot is when script writers cut chunks out to meet certain movie requirements, which sadly is bound to happens with any adaptation. The problem is you can’t have a good story when pieces are missing.
When women who are looking for a distraction view this film, it is subtly showing them that in order to live their perfect, happy life they must work for it. That they are only worthy of love once they have served their “prince charming”, as that is what their fantasy is showing them. This representation is extremely harmful to women. They may view these movies and see that they are not these things, that they do not currently cook and clean for their lovers and they may wish to maintain a full time job instead. It leads women to believe that they cannot have their happily ever after unless they do all of the things that they are seeing in Snow White and Cinderella’s perfect fantasy, as Snow White and Cinderella had to do these things to find their happiness.
