When I picture myself, I have faced many challenges in my life and realized how much i’ve grown and changed from them, just in the last year. The most important challenge that I am proud of myself for accomplishing is becoming a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA). Obtaining this certificate was a huge step in my life from childhood to adulthood. I became an LNA because my mother encouraged me to since she knew I always wanted to be a nurse ever since I was a child and I love helping other people out.
While Charlotte drank coffee in Charleston, South Carolina, her husband James prepared to move from the Tent City field hospital, near Petersburg, Virginia, to the Chimborazo Hospital in Richmond. James’right knee and leg were injured December 1864 in the battle of New Market Heights and Fort Harrison, southwest of Petersburg, Virginia. The Confederate triumphed, but the many wounded, included James, were carried to the nearby field hospital. Now with the war over, the tent hospital must come down. All patients are to go the Richmond hospital for an examination by the chief medical doctor.
Purpose and Goals Statement The Ohio State University Graduate College of Nursing Christina M Sanchez As a little girl, all of my art projects and writing assignments were full of ambitious promises to cure the sick of all their ailments. Watching my mother care for my ill grandmother, who lived with us when I was young, ignited my passion to help those in need. It then became my fierce determination to make an immediate difference in the quality of life for others.
I volunteered at Lenoir Memorial Hospital the Summer of 2015. I received about 58 hours of community service. Ms. Ann Durusky is the Director of Volunteer Services at the hospital. Volunteering at the hospital entails admitting and discharging patients from their rooms, escorting patients or guests to where they need to be, delivering emails, flowers, and gift baskets. At first, I was sent with the lead volunteer of our group and a partner, until I was able to remember what procedures to take in different situations.
Texas Health Resource is a non-profit organization that is under none public ownership. The hospital in my local community is Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital, which is one of many hospitals under the Texas Health Resource Systems. Texas Health Arlington Memorial residents in the 1950’s raised $250,000 for the start of building this hospital. Incidentally, there were only 75 beds originally when this hospital was built. For more than 65 years, Texas Health Arlington Memorial has always focused on the community, and how to implement new changes within the organization for the betterment of the community.
By being a part of the organizations listed above, I encounter many opportunities of community service and volunteer work that contribute to enhancing CSU and its community. Being a member of The Competitive Premedical Program, we are given the opportunity to volunteer
That is what Virginia Mason and FUND are all about. That is what your generosity is doing for patients, their families and
His backpack hits the ground. Squealing excitedly, she comes waddling up with arms outstretched hands grabbing, begging him to pick her up. Bending over to pick her up her diaper squished against his arm and he heads towards the changing station. This was his after-school routine. Before homework could start he would change her diaper and play with her.
You are a new physician setting up your practice in a new town. You are researching the different MCOs offered in your area and are considering becoming a physician for one of these networks. You have also invited the sales representatives of several healthy plans to speak with you about the benefits of choosing their plans. Based on the above scenario, answer the following questions: • What effects would join an MCO have your clinic regarding staffing, patient volume, and financial stability?
The main hospital, reminiscent of a mansion, is built on a 130 acre estate in Toronto, Canada. The complete patient experience consists of orientation, patient socializing, evening tea and encouraging housekeepers and nurses. Even after the patient checks out, the service continues and a free annual checkup along with annual patient reunion is managed. The procedure performed for hernia in the remarkable environment of Shouldice hospital approximately costs half than any other place. Overall, the hospital’s experience is one which patients love and brag about between friends and family, making word of mouth which is the primary marketing strategy of the hospital.
Throughout high school I have participated in many different activities and programs, but one of the opportunities I was given I will carry with me forever. As a junior at River Valley I participated in the Marion General Teen Volunteer Program. After interviewing and being placed in the physical therapy unit I took the opportunity to branch out into other areas of the hospital. I soon made my way to the labor and delivery floor where everyday a miracle happened. My duties while volunteering included assisting the nurses during hearing checks, changing diapers, and rocking crying infants in special care.
Since the beginning of high school, I have joined numerous of clubs that widely range from music performance to publication. An extracurricular activity that I am passion about the most is French Honor Society. I’ve learned French since I started to learn my mother language- Vietnamese. The country of baguette fascinated my artistic aspect. Everything about this country is magnificent, from the beret to La Tour Eiffel.

Based on this evaluation and using best practices, I designed and implemented a comprehensive approach to improve efficiency and effectiveness, grow financial and program support, enhance collaboration, measure performance, and create incentive and synergy among staff members. I have successfully recruited and strategically increased and realigned staffing within both hospital and higher education environments. I believe that the success of a program is based not only on the skills, attitudes, and continued professional development of staff, but also on clear goals and expectations. I recognize the importance of a strong planned giving program in creating a pipeline for the future of the organization. In recent years I have focused on the increasing use of social media to enhance fundraising and have created strong donor relations, donor communications and stewardship
Patient-centered care is a key success factor in the organisation of integrated healthcare systems (Juhnke & Mühlbacher, 2013). Coordinating care around patients’ or their caregivers’ needs reduces service fragmentation, achieves better patient outcomes and experiences, as well as service efficiencies and cost savings (Edwards). Three key elements that support successful integrated healthcare include (i) addressing patient needs through individualised care plans, (ii) working in multidisciplinary teams to deliver care and (iii) having key enablers for infrastructural support i.e. governance, clinical leadership, information sharing, aligned financial incentives and patient engagement (Carter, Chalouhi, McKenna, & Richardson, 2011).
