Eliminating Bullying
More and more shootings are happening more frequently nationwide.People are wondering why? What could be causing this increase in violence? Sixty-one percent of students said the students who shoot others in school do so because they have been victims of physical abuse at home. There is violence and problems in American schools. People are both victims and witnesses of bullying. Bullying is becoming an increasingly important problem for parents, schools, administrators and teachers and it affects our society at large. America must get serious about eliminating bully. It is important to understand what is bullying, how to prevent it, problems associated with bullying and how it affects the victims and witnesses.

School violence reflects a variety of social and mental health. According to Sally and Denise,the problem in school violence reflects a variety of social,mental health,political and educational issues(Driscoll and Geier 2). We learn bullying from our parents and the people around us. The social stratification of bullying is caused by bullying and is often a precursor of some sort of adult behavior( Lee and Geier 1).When people are bully,it can lead into violence towards other people.It can lead into high publizied rampages,homcides,rape and aggravated assault(Driscoll and Geier 2).Bullying can be in all sorts of differet ways that a person can be harrassing someone. Americans have witnessed at least 110 mass shootings in schools.Bullying in school can be reckless or intimidating or harassing each other. Around the world there are many kind of problems that afflict kids of all age but there is one in particular that is relevant, this problem is the bullying. Also many kids commit suicide because of this problem, this isn't an actual problem, the bullying exist many years ago almost all generations of humans witness the bullying in the childhood.
In one definition of strain Agnew (1992) states it is a “relationship in which others are not treating the individual as he or she would like to be treated” (48). Students who are not treated as they would like while at school often become angry and anger “energizes the individual for action,” which means a criminal response to this strain is likely (Agnew, 2001, 327). A perceived injustice at school that often causes strain on students is bullying. In a study on high profile school shootings researchers found that 71% of shooters had been victims of bullying (Vossekuil et al., 2002). In terms of school related deaths, the offenders were more than twice as likely to have been victims of bullying than other students (Anderson et al., 2001; Glew et al., 2008).
Bullying is a major issue that affects many students all around the world. As it is well-known bullying reports are not always reported. This may be due to students not feeling comfortable or they may not know how to report incidents. In many cases, when incidents are reported not much is done to properly address the incident. Schools need to be more active in responding to bullying because it can negatively affect a student’s well-being.
Bullying is an undesirable, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves actual disparity of power. According to Megan Brooks bullying is a serious public health problems, with significant short-and long-term psychological consequences for the child who is bullied and the child who is the bully. Bullying Can Be Prevented Bullying is a form of violence to pick on victims because they are different from their bullies, have insecurity/jealousy or home problems. The hate towards their victim has something to do with the victim having an unusual gift or being intelligent the bullies has yet to become. It is important that this behavior should be prevented or it will become worse. Bullying is one of the main issues public and private schools have to face on a day-to-day basis.
