Hunting Rifles and their Maintenance
Hunting is an art, and art requires great care to its details. The more meticulous you are, the more likely for you to gain success and joy from such activity. Just like brushes in painting, or instruments in music, the hunting rifles are tools that must be focused on the most, as it is definitely one of the most important. If the weapon has been used in water snow, rain, or near salt, then grab a barrel and action from the stock and wipe the internal metal parts with a patch of oil.
3. Field care
If you hunt in the coastal zone, your arms will be exposed to salt and high humidity that can rust you firearms in a few hours - even if they are made of stainless steel. If the internal parts, such as the trigger mechanism or firing pin, being exposed to salt water and moisture, they may not work when you need them. If you hunt in very cold temperatures, your gun can not fire unless all grease and oil were removed carefully. The difficult weather conditions made it necessary to keep your gun in good working order.
To maintain your weapon when you go hunting, always pack a small container of light gun oil or lubricants, cleaning rod with a jag compact or loops, and a lot of cotton patches. Remember to bring screwdrivers, Allen wrenches or Torx screws fit on your gun, scope base and rings. Finally, pack a little black electrician tape of to cover the muzzle when you are hunting to avoid dirt, debris, and rain.
4. After hunt
Something that could get just about any gunsmith in trouble is taking a firearm apart that they cannot put back together. When this happens, extra time must be afforded to research and learn how to fix the mistakes. Time is money and this delay will surely cost, but hopefully there isn’t the cost of replacement parts. In this weeks assigned article Chick Blood attempts to give us as gunsmiths a “heads up” about the Ruger scout rifle. For those that are unfamiliar with the Scout Rifle this article teaches some tips and tricks to be able to properly break down the rifles action and how it differs from other Model 77 style guns.
The purpose of this paper is to examine a few examples of the many challenges, conflicts and resolutions of the Lewis and Clark Expedition revealing America. These historical figures lead the first American expedition to cross what is known now as the western portion of the United States, departing in May 1804, from near St. Louis making their way westward through the continental divide to the Pacific coast. Even before the expedition began, internal diplomatic struggles occurred within congress where then, President Jefferson secretly obtained funding of $2500 for the expedition to explore territory all the way to the Pacific Ocean. At the time, the territory of the West did not belong to the United States. The resolution was
Having them aboard ships helped protect the people on the water by defending the ship and fighting off approaching enemies. On land, the gun would greatly increase the death toll by rapidly firing bullets into the masses. This means the amount of bullet wounds sky rocketed and the bullets would directly kill the victims and many suffered from gunshot wounds while little could be done about it with the lack of medical
The musket, a deadly rifle equipped with a sharpened knife at the end for close encounter combat. The musket is a highly efficient rifle that consists of gunpowder, shrapnel, and a metal rod to bury all of the ammo into the gun. When used in combat it is best used to take some sort of cover so you are safe when reloading. The only flaw the musket has is its reloading time which is very very slow, but when mastered, it only takes a few seconds. Other rifles were used for solely shooting and not close up combat.

Hunting creates a national economic impact of about $61 billion and has supported over seven-hundred billion jobs. Hunting also brings in about $1.4 billion in state tax revenues and $1.7 billion in federal income taxes. Hunting isn’t a cheap past time, in order to even attempt to get an animal you must first purchase a license every season. Hunting is well regulated between the federal and state governments in order to prevent over hunting. The problem that can come up is illegal hunting and poaching.
If the world today gave up hunting, wildlife would become non existent and animals would struggle to thrive due to disease and overpopulation. Outdoorsmen also gain plentiful amount of experience while hunting. They gain relationships, knowledge of the outdoors, and they maintain an old tradition and keep it alive and thriving. In the future hunting may become an even more pressing and controversial subject; however, we must do everything in our power to keep hunting alive. Hunting has a deeper meaning to some people and to take that away from them is in some ways inhumane.
One of the best days of my life was when we went deer hunting in South Dakota with my dad, brother, uncle and two cousins, but before I tell you about my trip let me tell you how it started. We left early in the morning to head to South Dakota where my cousin Jacob, who had just got a job as Game warden in Custer State Park, was taking us deer hunting. We got as far as Fargo, North Dakota when my cousin Keith asked my dad where our license were. Then to our surprise we forgot them back at home. We were lucky enough to have my two aunts and mom bring us the license because they were going to Fargo that day anyways for a girls shopping day.
