Obesity: It is Time to Rid America of the Problem Weighing on Most of its Citizens
Today, over two-thirds of adult Americans can be deemed overweight or obese (“Overweight & Obesity Statistics”). Two thirds. Not too long ago, people were dying all over the world, simply because of starvation. Now, everyone is dying from problems like type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, strokes and heart disease (“Overweight & Obesity Statistics”), mostly due to obesity and lack of exercise.
This terrifying epidemic is starting to reach every corner of the world, fast food chains being the main murderers of healthy bodies. Businesses like McDonald's are increasing in size as fast as Americans’ waistlines. They trick people with words like ‘fresh’, ‘gluten-free’ or ‘organic’, when really those do not necessarily mean the food is healthy. This issue is too large to ignore. America and the world are now in the very center of a crisis that they do not even recognise. Some sort of action must be taken. The crazy diets put out into the world are simply not enough, and are only sneaky plans to wring more cash out of people. People over a certain weight must receive the surgery to sew their lips together. It is only temporary, but extremely crucial to their survival. They may be fed through an IV each day. People who do not like this option, for the obvious reason that they will not be able to speak, can then choose option number two. The surgical removal of their body fat. People will be put to sleep, and wake up with scars all over their bodies, serving as an effective reminder never to overeat again. Both options are very reasonable and practical, being not only effective for the removal of fat, but as a way of scaring them into staying in
