Throughout history, we have had to deal with conflict. How we deal with conflict can be most challenging of all. We all can find our strength to make it through treacherous times. A positive attitude can help a tremendous amount when dealing with conflict. An example of this can be found in The Diary of Anne Frank. Anne’s positive attitude and hope helped her overcome her distressing time in hiding during World War II. Other examples can also be found in the poem “Homesick”, and journal entries written by youngsters living during World War II. Having hope helps overcome obstacles that you may have thought was unfeasible to surpass. Hope can be found in everything. Fear can leave you petrified, but hope is the greatest strength that you can possess and hope will always overpower fear. At the times of World War II, conflict was at its finest. This was a devastating period of time, and a time Anne Frank had to live through. On page 10 in The Diary of Anne Frank, Anne speaks to us saying, “He heard Hitler’s marching gangs sing that horrible song, ‘when Jew blood spurts from the knife,’ and he knew it was time to leave.” The Frank family’s only option would be to hide, and all they could do is hope for …show more content…
Hope can consist of staying positive even through the most calamitous of times, remembering some of your precious memories, and even waiting patiently for good outcomes. Having hope can help you overcome obstacles that you may have thought were unfeasible to surpass. There may be times where hope seems out of your grasps. Yo may even start feeling like there is no point in having hope, but a positive attitude can help a tremendous amount when handling conflict. Having something taken from your grasps makes you want to fight for it, but waiting patiently and having hope can also get the lost item back. Fear can leave you petrified, but hope is the greatest strength that you can possess and hope will always overpower
“Don’t lose hope… Have faith in life, a thousand times fate… Help each other. That is the only way to survive.” This is a specific quote relating how hope progressed
Prior to World War 2 Jewish people were the main family or culture that the Nazi’s been feeding off of and killing approximately 6,000 each day. Which led to 6.5 million Jews dead at the end of the war and a few survivors. Although one of these few survivors was Otto Frank, father of Anne Frank, Diarist of one of the most famous diaries, “The Diary of Anne Frank.” World War 2 was a devastating event that changed how Jews lived because because they were said to be “Divergent.” How I felt about the events covered in the Diary of Anne Frank was dramatically depressing.
In life you come to find yourself in many struggles, but there is always a sense of accomplishment over such problems. Conflict is used in the book, Speak, to support my interpretation of the quote. Conflict is used in the book, Speak, to support my interpretation of the quote. Conflict is the problem in the story or any struggle between opposing forces.
Hope can help people get through the hardest obstacles in life. These following quotations are examples of people having hope help them through the tough times. People hope that others are still alive even if they could be dead. Not long ago Elie and his father were just separated from his mother and sister.
Hope is a feeling inside you that makes feel like you can do anything. When you have that feeling you set yourself up for success and it makes you want to live life like a fairytale. The war started at Valley Forge, George Washington made an army that he had hoped for. Then the British came and forced war over them. “The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.”
Anne is again, talking to Peter in this quote. It is outstanding how she can still be positive when everything around her, is crashing down. After being cooped up for almost two years, she can still sit down and appreciate all parts of life. Anne pulled Peter aside to show him the beautiful sky; even if their conditions aren’t the best. A great way to have yourself taken seriously, is to be a great example yourself.
During World War II, the German Reich marched across the entire continent of Europe. During the Holocaust, many people became discouraged and lost hope in the future of society. However, the excerpts from “Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl,” written by herself, and “Hitler Youth: Growing up in Hitler’s Shadow” by Susan Campbell Bartoletti, prove that being positive and persevering is the best thing that someone can do. Whether hiding from the Nazis or already taken by them, the best response to have during conflict and chaos is maintaining a positive outlook on life and to persist through difficult times.
SURVIVAL ESSAY This is the story of A Long Walk To Water by Linda Sue Park. This is a good story about a boy named Salva and a girl named Nya. They live in different times. Salva and Nya need water and food. Salva has to walk a long way to get away from a war.
Hope can be a driving force in our lives. It can pick up the phone to call that one girl back for a second date. It can move our fingers to type the first few words of a novel. It can push us to do more and be more than we ever thought we could be. On the other hand, hope can be like an opiate.
Anne Frank’s Character Development Throughout the War Throughout World War II Anne Frank was kept hidden away in a 500 square foot building they came to call the Secret Annexe. Anne Frank, her family, and the Van Daans endured difficult times of hunger, thirst, and lack of privacy cornered by walls for over two years. Anne confided her observations and feelings of the hard times within her diary she named Kitty. By writing in her diary both before and after the war, one could visibly notice how Anne went into the Annexe as a juvenile and came out as a young adult.
If you don’t have hope you will not even come close succeeding but if just try you will know if you did fail you failed trying to survive. If you have hope if you have hope you have strength to try again if you try enough times you might achieve it giving you more hope this was the cycle if Salva’s feelings in this book ups and downs. If you and everybody else in the world had as much as an ounce of his hope and strength the world be a better place. So be like Salva and make the world a better place.
Have you ever been in a situation where you have to choose hope or fear? I believe hope is stronger than fear. Some great sources are are Diary of Anne Frank play which is about a girl who had to hide from the Nazis during WWII, and the poem Homesick which is about someone living the ghettos and does not have much to eat. What is stronger, hope or fear? The Diary of Anne Frank is a great source.
This story is abut a girl that was writing her daily days while she was in the holocaust She was venting her fears and frustrations, and contemplating her everyday life. She was given the diary as a present from her parents in 1942, and named it Kitty. Through her diary writing, Anne Frank was in many ways her own counsellor in a time of great suffering and tribulation. She realized that writing down her thoughts and feelings could help her cope with the anxiety of the war and Nazi persecution.

Imagine how it feels to be stuck in a tiny, miniscule room for almost two years, not able to make a sound or movement and if heard by someone, death or concentration camp is the destination? The Diary of Anne Frank by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett is about a small family which consists of Anne, Margot, Mr. Frank, and Mrs. Frank who were in a shock of fear, and went into hiding during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. Over the course of the story other characters join the family into hiding such as Mr. and Mrs. Van Daan, and their son Peter. During the time of hiding, Anne kept a diary to write down all her thoughts, fears, and feelings and was later known to be the most important piece of literature from the times of the Holocaust. The story takes you through their everyday lives of hiding in the annex which also includes arguing and times of happiness.
