Who sank the Titanic do you know? This topic is important because we want to know who is responsible for killing all those people on the ship. The audience should care because it was an important time in our history and when the amazing ship sank it killed many people. Our life today was more advanced because we made sure we had enough lifeboats now there new regulations.I believe J. Bruce Ismay is responsible for the sinking of the Titanic because he rushed through testings and had the ship low on equipment they needed and just preceded to set sail. All though you think that Captain Smith was responsible because he ignored multiple iceberg warnings. He also left the ship wheel when he knew there was iceberg warnings. He went to a dinner party when left the wheel and got drunk. I think J. Bruce Ismay is responsible for the sinking of the Titanic because he skipped of a good crew he also speeded up when told not to. He put pressure on Captain Smith and decided to take a 90 degree turn with a huge ship. J. Bruce Ismay also went off and got into a lifeboat. He told Captain Smith to speed up the ship and then he turned the wheel to cause the iceberg to cut into the side of the ship to make it sink. This why J. Bruce Ismay is …show more content…
Bruce Ismay is responsible because he took over the wheel and speeded up and he tried to make a 90 degree turn with a huge ship if you just run through with the front it probably wouldn’t of sunk but he turned and had the side of the ship tore up by the iceberg and it cause them to sink. He also ignored all dispatches and didn’t tell the captain to do nothing. Its a bad thing that he left the ship and got on a lifeboat and filled up and extra spot when the could of went to someone who did do anything most of the crew members stayed backed helping passengers get on. J. Bruce Ismay ran away from the trouble has has cause keep reading to see what happens
His crew wanted him to turn around and threatened to kill him. So many people died on that ship. People had to even eat sawdust from wood because they were running out of food. The boat started to fall apart on his first voyage, but quickly got fixed up. They faced the lack of wind that helped the boat progress.
The reason I believe in this theory and not another one is because this is the most reasonable to me . In the article “ Sinking Theories” where I got my information from. In paragraph 4 tilted “ Theory 4: Three Sisters “ it says . ” Captain Cooper of the Anderson ( the Anderson is a ship that was there when the Edmund sank the people on the ship didn 't see what happened but was close by.) provides “fuel for this theory , as he relates in Marshall’s shipwreck on Lake Superior a little bit before 7:00pm .
Larson not only blames the sinking of this ship upon the submarine that sunk the ship, but also he spies who withheld information about another safe route the ship could have used. Another claim was that because the cruiser had to take on passengers from another ship, The Cameronia, the ship was then delayed for about two days, and could not continue on the original course time, so you could say they ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time. Another major problem on this ship was that the workers were not fully executing the drills they were instructed to do on a daily basis, and not instructing the passengers to learn the procedure either. On page 208, it states, “ Passengers had been instructed to keep their
Opposition to Spanish - American War Following the explosion of the USS Maine in February 15, 1898, while many Americans favored going to war with Spain, some were adamantly against the notion. The few who were against the idea of going to war include President McKinley, a fraction of African Americans, and one significant group, “ The Anti- Imperialism League”. Immediately after the explosion of the USS Maine, President McKinley, who disliked the idea of going to war ordered an investigation of the explosion. Americans claimed that an external force caused the sinking of the ship and the death of 266 crew members while Spain claimed that the sinking was the result of an internal force.
The tragedy at sea that was the USS Indianapolis has greatly changed how the US Navy is seen ever since the exoneration of the ship’s captain, Captain McVay. Most people tend to focus on the case and court martial of Captain McVay instead of the tragedy itself. In recent years the failure of the USS Indianapolis along with the approximate 300 bodies left in the sea with it have been discussed, exponentially so in Left For Dead by Peter Nelson. The information upon the sailors and their deaths can be easily found but yet most do not take the next step to see why these men died the awful, horrendous deaths they did. These men at sea were set up for failure in the boat and in the sea itself after the ship capsized.
Conclusion Even though Margaret Ann’s stay at the Titanic was tragic and the trauma and guilt that it gave her stayed in her memory her whole life, she at least still managed to get what she wanted, to be with her brother once again. The diary of Margaret Ann Brady has helped a lot of people understand the reality of what really happened to the passengers during the sinking of the
Have you ever wondered who was responsible for the sinking of the titanic? This is important, because it was one of the biggest sea disasters in the world. Because of the sinking of the titanic new regulations and safety rules have been made. I believe that captain Smith was responsible for the sinking of the titanic, because he was ultimately responsible for everyone on the ship. Now, I will tell you why captain Smith was responsible for the sinking of the titanic.
“Walter lord brings up during the novel that the reason why most passengers aboard the ship died was due to them not having access to the lifeboats on the Titanic. It mentions, “Especially when everyone realized there weren't enough boats for everyone.” If the Titanic never took this “risk” and experimented with not adding enough lifeboats, we wouldn't know nowadays that boats would need so many lifeboats in case of emergencies. With this, Walter Lord describes the cause and effect of this risk that led to a tragedy. He mentions, “Third officer Pitman…heard the cries…pitman was toned by the dilemma.”
On April 15 the unsinkable ship went down into the North Atlantic Ocean. I Survived the Sinking of the Titanic by Lauren Tarshis is about the tragedy of the Titanic. I Survived the Sinking of the Titanic is about a 10 year old boy named George. Living in New York, George and his sister, Phoebe, went to England with their Aunt Daisy. They sail home on the ship of the Titanic.
Passengers scrambled back to rooms for life jackets. Then, a second explosion shook the ship, believed to be a steam pressure drop. With the ship moving at 18 knots the water flooding in caused the bow to sink and the stern to lift, and a list towards the starboard, as a result of the empty coal bunker filling up. The men in the forward baggage holds, where the torpedo hit, were all killed or trapped, and they knew how to launch a life boat. The deck was in chaos, the starboard boats were too far for a person to get in them off the deck and the port ones were not over the water.
I think the Edmund Fitzgerald sank because of the Three Sisters. “Anderson this is the Fitzgerald. I have a fence railed, two vents lost or damaged, and a list..” (A list means it his leaning or tipped a little). At 6:55pm Captain Cooper “felt a “bump”, they felt the ship
The reasons why Lord Capulet is to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet is because, Lord Capulet was making plans for Juliet to marry Paris but she was already married to Romeo, But Lord Capulet thinks he knows what’s best for his only daughter. “Soft! Take me with you, take me with you, Wife/ How? Will she none? Doth she not give us thanks?
The Titanic’s maiden voyage was a disaster because the people didn’t prepare for things like this. Most ships go over a safety procedures, but the Titanic didn’t do such a thing. They only rescued wealthy people, which I felt was wrong. Some passengers jumped off the ship in desperation. Whoever drove the ship couldn’t have been paying attention.
Titanic was deemed unsinkable because it had 15 watertight bulkheads and a double bottom. The problem with this though was that “the watertight compartment design contained a flaw that was a critical factor in Titanic’s sinking: While the individual bulkheads were indeed watertight, the walls separating the bulkheads extended only a few feet above the waterline, so water could pour from one compartment into another, especially if the ship began to list or pitch forward.” Many people say that the ship was doomed from the start. On April 10th 1912, The Titanic set sail for Cherbourg, France and then to Queenstown, Ireland.
