A.Holmes 27 January 2023 CCR ENGLISH III Block 2 The theme of the Crucible is false accusations. It talks about how Abigail Williams accused John and Innocent people. The girls of Salem also went along with Abigail’s lies. They were scared of her and she threatened them. If they told the truth they will regret it. At the beginning of the story the girls and Abigail were dancing in the woods. Parris discovered Betty, his niece Abigail, and Tituba, his black slave from Burbados, dancing in the forest outside of Salem at midnight. Following that morning, Reverend Samuel Parris, finds his daughter Betty in bed unconscious. They start freaking out trying to wake her and stuff.
