Feed as our future
I think the world that the author depicted in the book “feed” is a possibility for our future. In the book the author, show the technology and world conditions of today to what might be there logical extent in the future. The author represents a world with corporations that rule the world in the same way as the internet. A world that is polluted and dying yet no one fully knows enough to care; almost identical to our world. The feed itself is a logical extent of the evolving technology of day. In my opinion, the feed is an absolute possibility in our future.
The book feed accurately show a logical extent of the internet in the form of the feed corporation. The feed corporation is a corporation that controls the world created by the author in the same sense our world is controlled by the internet. The feed corporation works by taking a person's online identity and selling it to

In the feed the author depicts a future with no forests or real wildlife. He shows a grim world where everything from the air to water is polluted ;to me this vaguely resembles the world conditions of today. When we look around the globe we see many places that have already reached a point where it is dangerous to even live a single day because they are so polluted. For example, living a day in Delhi, India is like smoking 20 cigarettes a day. Also, rain forests that provide a significant amount of oxygen and fresh water are being cut down at an alarming rate. A study showed rain forests that use to cover 14% of the world now cover 6%. Every minute that goes by thirty acres of rain forests are cut down and yet this is not a state of emergency for the world. The world conditions are getting worse by the minute and i believe that it is only a matter of time until we reach the same weather condition shown in the
Overall I really liked Feed by M.T Anderson I thought it gave me a new outlook on our world and how technology has played a huge role in our society and who we have become. In feed I was given a very realistic view on what technology may become in the future and how probable it is that we will become more and more dependent on technology for our most basic needs. I would recommend that you use this book again next year because i found it enjoyable and entertaining. After reading this book i want to be less reliant on my phone and technology because it scares me how far technology has gone in feed. Also i want to have everyone appreciate nature more and respect it because if all of nature is destroyed that would be devastating.
How can one become one with their environment? Connection with one 's environment was always easier to maintain until the industrial age came into existence. With the birth of modern society came the birth of social responsibilities and burdens unknown to man. In “The Way to Rainy Mountain” and “A place for literature,” Barry Lopez and N. Momaday Momaday explain the impact of lands on its occupants. In “the white heron,” Sarah Jewett explains the feeling of reconnection with one’s inner voice though nature.
Humans have an especially intriguing propensity for envisioning what 's to come. While the vast majority have taken a couple of minutes to consider where they 'll be in a couple of months, years, or even decades, others have dedicated their opportunity to envisioning about what will look like for all of humanity. Ray Bradbury, a prolific author, is one such visionary. The society depicted in Bradbury 's Fahrenheit 451 is so dependant on technology that the reliance on devices is obscuring their perspective on the world, turning them into selfish and inhuman individuals. In fact, the entertainment is not only a illusion, but a way to control people 's behaviors, thoughts, and interactions by replacing human connection; therefore, destroying
In the book the Feed, the author M.T. Anderson explores a world of technology innovations that demonstrate a perfect model of science fiction. Science fiction is fiction that is based on envisioned future technology advances and environmental changes that affect the world largely. In this society people would rather go out of their way to avoid human interaction, text than call, or surf the web rather than engaging in a conversation. In this story Anderson goes over the top by starting with 70% of Americans joined together with internet chips implanted into their brains called feeds. Most get the feed when they are first born so it makes them rely on technology to get through life.
The short story “No Renewal”, by Spider Robinson, depicts a dystopian version of Earth in the future of 2049. It indicates the outcomes of our actions due to mass production of resources causing a decrease in natural resources. Humans have become so dependable on technology that they are blinded in terms of consequences and implications it causes. The author in the story describes the setting,“From here Douglas can see the bay, when the wind is right and the smoke from the industrial park does not come in between. Even then he can no longer see the far shores of New Brunswick, for the air is thicker then when Douglas was a child”
"I was not predicting the future, I was trying to prevent it" (Bradbury). The world illustrated in Fahrenheit 451 isn 't that far off from our own. Technology has become a very influential part of everyone 's lives, and has control over people’s actions and thoughts. Ray Bradbury uses the themes mass media, conformity vs. individuality, and censorship in his dystopian novel, Fahrenheit 451, to capture a futuristic world in which books are illegal and technology is consuming society. Mass media is a significant theme throughout the book, Fahrenheit 451.
He doesn’t want anything like we have today, he wants to tell the story in a different way and make you think differently than if he told us in like futuristic way it would be better and in a way worse. If it would be modern day, i feel like it would make sense more and make it easier for the people who don 't catch on to the book. The book is old, and i feel like modern day people don 't understand the way he is trying to get his point across. Technology today has changed dramatically and has been a impact to our society. It helped a lot and made things alot easier.
M. T. Anderson is a famous American author that uses his novel Feed to show his many growing concerns with the advancements in technology and its’ impact on society. Feed is seen through the eyes of Titus, a teenage boy that has constant internet access and
Contemporary society is a variety of all things good and bad that one might misinterpret as perfect if glanced upon with a pair of rose colored glasses. While new inventions and scientific breakthroughs, have lead to daily life and communication becoming easier to handle and manage, as a society humanity often times fails to see the adverse effects of these technological pursuits on itself. In the dystopian novel, Brave New World, the author Aldous Huxley focuses a great deal on the idea of technology and control. He does so by grossly exaggerating many of the common technological advances of today and making them seem unrealistic and unbelievable, while in actuality are closer to the truth then far from it. Aldous Huxley showing the reader
Over time technology will take complete control over society. Technology is slowly starting to control society and everyone in it. “We’re simply at work in another location with more free time. We’re checking our email and waiting for that important message to come in when reading a book or sitting

At the turn of the millennium, advancements in technology began to change everyday life worldwide. With the development of the internet, people can connect in more efficient ways through the digital matrix. Although fears of the development of media such as this and its predecessors such as radio and television, these innovations have helped create a worldwide culture based on the web, and the fears of a dystopian future based on technological advancements have dispersed. In such a short amount of time, we have went from the Nokia to the iPhone, from landline calls to text messages but at this point in our lives, we must ask ourselves if a limit exists when it comes to the development of technology and media, and question what the future holds for us. The future of media can span anywhere from streaming other people’s lives in real time, to new digital realities that we can control using our voices, to new forms of education based on higher forms of technology, to
The Earth is a beautiful place, there is no doubt about that. Now the future is questionable due to all the manufacturing and oil drilling we’ve done. However, not only those actions are to blame, we have all played our part. Humans have created a new world, the Anthropocene. The Anthropocene is defined as the idea that we have entered a new epoch in Earth’s geological history.
The article uses important political figures and even presents valuable scientific data of droughts and other natural disasters to support claims, but quickly turns away to discuss how global warming has no real influence, instead scientific data demonstrates that global cooling has had more
In 1988 ‘The IPCC or, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change was created. It was set up by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) to prepare, based on available scientific information, assessments on all aspects of climate change and its impacts with a view of formulating realistic response strategies.’ It was at this point in history that we were first being told that ‘SOMETHING IS GOING
